Mechanical Engineering Intern

Let's Talk About Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will work directly with talented individuals of all levels.  With guidance from a departmental leader you will work on:

• Supporting research and development activities, and product development activities by performing research, design analysis, design envelope testing (sensitivity analysis) as applicable to the motorized blower system as a whole, or subassembly components.
• Developing test systems in support of design analysis activities.
• Performing testing, collecting and analyzing test data using engineering software, computer aided design, and code scripting as necessary to support statistical analysis. 
• Writing detailed engineering reports based on development activities and data analysis.
• Facilitating laboratory test installation qualifications and report writing activities. 

The right candidate for our internship will be expected to know commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the mechanical engineering product development process and rely on mentorship, instructions, and pre-established guidelines to perform the job's functions.  

This is preferred to be an on-site role located at our ResMed facility in Chatsworth and/or Calabasas, California. Candidates will be asked to be available to participate in on-site/remote team meetings.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience):

• Ability to work full-time for 12 weeks during Summer 2025; program dates are May 19, 2025 – August 8, 2025 OR June 16, 2025 – September 5, 2025
• Engineering academic studies that will lead to a Bachelor's or Master's Degree (preferably mechanical).
• Experience with mechanical engineering design and analysis, statistical analysis, outstanding writing skills, and excellent data analysis skills with scripting capabilities. 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Ability to work in a part time role either before and or after the internship. 
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Strong experiences as demonstrated through projects, research or mechanical engineering internships.
• Great interpersonal relations, team cooperation and communication skills.
• Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations.
• Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to medical technology industry and a career with ResMed. 

Pay Range:

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Individual pay decisions will be made by our staffing provider partner and are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.

Base Pay Range for this position:

$22.50 - $41.50 per hour.
