YOUR MISSION
As a Mechanical Engineer at True Anomaly, you will be responsible for designing mechanical assemblies for flight systems and other ground support mechanisms in the development of our spacecrafts. This is an opportunity to design and develop our next generation LEO/GEO vehicles, shaping the future of space exploration from the ground up.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the design, analysis, and optimization of mechanical systems and structures for advanced satellites, ensuring they meet performance, weight, and reliability requirements.
- End-to-end development of mechanical structures, from concept and prototyping to qualification and flight hardware delivery.
- Develop detailed and organized 3D CAD models for spacecraft components, subsystems, and assemblies.
- Create detailed piece part and assembly drawings of flight components.
- Work collaboratively with structural, thermal, and propulsion teams during analyses to validate designs and ensure compliance with mission requirements.
- Support build/assembly and test campaigns of flight systems.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design efficiency, manufacturability, and system performance.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 4+ years of professional experience in mechanical design.
- Demonstrated experience with spacecraft level mechanical architecture design, as well as component design for space mechanisms, and packaging electronics for the space environment.
- Demonstrated a strong knowledge in mechanical GD&T.
- Experience with configuration control, MES and PLM tools.
- Proficiency in CAD tools, such as SolidWorks.
- Passion for the space industry.
- Proven ability to lead projects from concept to delivery in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in development and production of space systems.
- Experience in or exposure to mechanical design for propulsion systems, mechanisms, and/or payloads.
- Track record of innovative problem-solving in complex mechanical designs.
- Experience working in a startup or similarly dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with full vehicle lifecycle from concept through production.
COMPENSATION
- Base Salary: $105,000-$135,000 for Mechanical Engineer II; $130,000-$170,000 for Senior Mechanical Engineer

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, location, and experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance
- Work Location: while we observe a hybrid work environment, you will need to be onsite as the business needs require. On an average week, you can expect to spend at least 3 days per week in office at our Gravity Works facility.
- Work environment is in a standard office, working at a desk or in a production factory.
- Physical demands may include frequent standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting or carrying items up to 20lbs.
