Organize and chair production meetings and issue meeting reports.

Keep Master Schedule updated as well as Shop/Machine loading plans in order to predict bottlenecks or slack periods.

Issue project schedules for shop and customer use.

Follow progress of jobs from opening to completion and take necessary action with Shop Operations Manager (overtime, shifts, outsourcing) to maintain schedule.

Ensure Shop Operations Manager is aware of critical path items and delivery dates.

Manage Purchasing and Expediter in order to meet the deliveries.

Act as primary reference point for project managers ensuring continued flow of information regarding project status.

Communicates with Resource Planning Manager regarding capacity constraints and availability.

Nature of the Job

Direct and supervise the day-to-day activities of the Expediter and Purchasing.

Expediting those involved in production, vendors and subcontractors in order to meet the deliveries.

Prepare and maintain master schedule and project schedules.

Organize and chair production meetings and issue meeting reports.
Contact with Others
-
Internally - Project Managers, Service Parts, Shop Engineering, Shop Management, Purchasing, Field Representatives, Engineered Solution, Tech Services, Accounting, Shipping/Receiving, Quality Assurance, and shop personnel.

Externally - Vendors and subcontractors.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's degree with five (5) years’ experience in production control or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role preferred.

Understanding of work scope structure, standard hours, durations, lead times, and key metrics such as utilization, efficiency and productivity.
-
Self-motivated with the ability to handle difficult situations and demanding
deadlines. -
Computer literacy with basic PC skills and working knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite, Lotus Notes, Vantage, Oracle, Windchill, etc.
