Position: Marketing Manager
Location: Mindelo, Vila do Conde, Portugal
Position Overview:
The Marketing Manager will have the primary responsibility for the strategic marketing activities supporting select segments within our rigid packaging adhesives business, which is part of our Hygiene, Health, and Consumable (HHC) global business unit. This position will report to the Global Manager of Product Management and Marketing for Rigid Packaging.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Globally track and define market segments, market share position, key technologies, market trends and competitive activity with input and agreement from the regional team members.
- Set the product line segmentation of existing products and clearly define our value proposition.
- Work with regional marketing from other regions and directly with sales professionals in Europe and North America to make sure sales professionals are trained and have the right selling tools to clearly articulate the value proposition of our company and our promote products.
- Develop the new product development roadmap and drive us towards commercialization of new products that address unmet customer needs.
- Building internal relationships with multiple functions (commercial, technical service, R&D, etc.) to gain internal knowledge that can be leveraged to develop strategies and value propositions that differentiate us.
- Segmenting the market and customer applications/needs/behaviours.
- Gathering voice of customer (VOC), industry trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Gaining understanding of customer applications and end markets.
- Developing Value Propositions and Economic Value Estimated analysis for promote products.
- Managing product lifecycles.
- Develop strong communication campaigns to ensure successful product launchings.
- Work with technology, product line managers and pricing on strategies to improve the profitability of the business and drive those strategies through to execution with buy in from commercial leaders.
- Manage new product development projects through the stage gate process for top projects globally.
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS degree in business, marketing, engineering, or other related degree required, or 6+ years’ experience in a commercial, technical, marketing or communications type of role in a business or agency environment.
- Solid understanding of the markets we serve, products/solutions we offer, and ability to increase knowledge on market conditions, customer applications, and adhesive technologies.
- Fluent in English.
- Excellent communication skills, specifically writing.
- Excellent writing, editing and presentation skills.
- Proficient project management skills.
- Advanced skills in PowerPoint, Excel, Word.
- Can self-manage time and reprioritize tasks based on feedback from stakeholders.
- Ability to influence other areas of the company with clear recommendations.
- Develops and implement new ideas after seeking out diverse opinions.
- Ability to learn how to use marketing tools to create content (ex. Canva, Camtasia).
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA preferred.
- Knowledge of the adhesives/chemical industry or packaging market.
- Minimum of 6+ years of B2B marketing or commercial experience.
