What you will do:

The Marketing Manager for Location Based Entertainment (LBE) is responsible for leading full funnel initiatives from ideation, business case development, financial modelling, creative briefing, execution, and post reporting for The Rec Room and Playdium, within the scope of local partnerships and internal opportunities.

Local partnerships: Understand the individual performance and local nuances of each The Rec Room and Playdium location to identify strategic opportunities for local partnerships in the areas of sports, malls, tourism, etc. Proactively build relationships with partners to develop and execute strategic brand partnerships that help support the brand’s growth within the community, managing budget and providing performance reporting.

Internal opportunities: Identify opportunities for The Rec Room and Playdium within the Cineplex ecosystem to amplify reach and growth via offers, programs, and partnerships with Cineplex theaters, CineClub, Scene+, etc. Partner with internal cross functional leads to align goals and objectives that support both parties in achieving business objectives. Lead full funnel marketing programs, including business case development, execution, post reporting, and budget management.

The Marketing Manager will also lead the Marketing Coordinator, responsible for providing development and coaching and supporting professional growth. People management experience is required.

Lastly, the Marketing Manager will provide support to the Senior Marketing Manager on an ongoing basis in the areas of strategy development and program execution.

This is a hybrid position (3 days in the office per week). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the development of geo-targeted strategic LBE marketing initiatives focused on growing awareness and encouraging consideration for guests to visit The Rec Room and Playdium through brand, offers, engagement and experiential campaigns with external partners (sports, malls, tourism, etc). Understand each local market and the consumer to provide ongoing strategic recommendations on how to support individual The Rec Room and Playdium locations in the areas of program design, media plan, and relevant partnerships. Own and lead recommendations from end to end, including business case development, financial modelling, execution, media planning, and post reporting.
  • Lead and manage marketing programs that leverage internal opportunities to drive LBE growth within the Cineplex theater, CineClub, and Scene+ ecosystem. Partner with internal cross functional partners to align goals and meet shared objectives through program design. Manage initiatives from brief to execution, including business case development, financial modelling, execution, and post reporting.
  • Provide support to the Senior Marketing Manager in the areas of strategy development, program execution, and marketing routines on an ongoing basis and as needed.
  • Lead and manage the Marketing Coordinator, providing coaching and feedback for development.

Education & Certification

  • College Diploma in Marketing or Business Administration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration

Experience

  • 5-7 years of marketing experience
  • Experience developing strategic, targeted marketing communication plans; leveraging customer and competitive insights to develop integrated strategies across the customer journey, including traditional, out of home, experiential, and digital touch points.
  • Experience in managing a budget and financial planning.
  • Experience working with creative agencies; from insight development and excellent brief writing to managing creative asset development, creative feedback, production, asset management and delivery.
  • Experience working with media agencies; reviewing media strategies and plans that support marketing and business objectives including analysis of plan success based on data insights and KPIs.
  • Experience taking part in cross functional team-based projects and assuming a lead role in guiding the project from ideation to implementation.
  • Experience managing and activating experiential/partnerships and events.
  • Experience with program development, revenue projections, offer modeling to campaign analysis and reporting on results that support marketing and business objectives.
  • Experience with people management and coaching.

  • Highly collaborative team player and ability to lead cross functional teams.
  • Experience building experiential activation plans and offer modeling.
  • Ability to coordinate and organize meetings, promotions and events.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including brief writing, development of business cases, and delivering presentations to senior leadership.
  • Knowledge of budget management.
  • Experience in people management.
