Client Group Overview

The Client Group has a presence in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia, and is composed of five main areas:

  • Sales & Client Services works with financial intermediaries and institutions to offer diversified investment solutions that help clients build and preserve their wealth

  • Business Development is a conduit to the firm’s investment teams and supports our clients and internal business partners through investment-platform and product content, messaging, competitive analysis and education

  • Product Strategy & Development designs, develops and manages the firm’s global lineup of investment services and considers clients’ evolving needs to identify new opportunities

  • Marketing promotes the firm and its services by creating, packaging and distributing content and messaging to engage diverse audiences through digital platforms and initiatives, strategic campaigns, and events

  • Business Transformation looks to evolve and scale our business, leveraging digital and data, to drive top-line growth and improve profitability

What You'll Do:

The Marketing Automation Lead will collaborate closely with marketing teams across different regions to enhance lead generation and account-based marketing campaigns. The candidate will be responsible for working with the Salesforce team, data teams, and various regional marketing teams to deliver personalized and targeted messaging aimed at increasing engagement, conversions, and supporting digital selling efforts.

This role includes ownership of the lead generation roadmap for the Client Group and requires the ability to present ideas and functionalities to key and senior stakeholders effectively.

What We Are Looking For:

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Lead marketing campaigns, build automations, and develop nurture/drip programs using Marketo and/or Pardot.

  • Oversee platform ownership for email marketing automation, events, and ABM platforms (e.g., Marketo, Pardot, On24, Cvent, Demandbase).

  • Strategically propose and evangelize new platform features while staying updated on the latest functionalities.

  • Integrate and build forms and form handlers for digital marketing campaigns.

  • Monitor and maintain data quality in AB’s email platforms, implementing lead generation, nurturing, and scoring programs.

  • Optimize email reporting dashboards to analyze campaign performance, providing transparency to stakeholders and actionable recommendations.

  • Develop standardized templates, list segments in email/Salesforce, and other assets for efficient campaign management.

  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence team to connect data from email, website, CRM, and other channels.

  • Maintain best practices for Marketing Automation Platforms, including naming conventions, list management, lead flow, completion actions, and ownership.

  • Train new users on lead generation capabilities and serve as a subject matter expert on marketing cloud capabilities, automation processes, deliverability, and email marketing best practices.

Required Skills

  • 4-7 years of hands-on experience with Enterprise-level Email Service Platforms (ESPs) or Marketing Automation Technologies (e.g., Marketo, Pardot, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, etc.) is required.

  • Marketo Certification is required.

  • Experience managing data in a CRM system (e.g., Salesforce) integrated with a marketing automation platform.

  • In-depth understanding of data privacy regulations and consent types, including CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and CCPA.

  • Familiarity with event and ABM platforms for lead generation (e.g., On24, Cvent, Demandbase etc.)

  • Comprehensive knowledge of email marketing, deliverability, testing, and optimization.

  • Expertise in journey optimization for digital selling and nurture/drip campaigns.

  • Proficiency in using project management tools to streamline collaboration with cross-functional teams, executives, and external partners (e.g., Workfront, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.)

  • Experience coding in HTML for email.

  • Experience with social publishing/listening platforms is preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, business partners, and senior leadership.

  • Ability to work independently, problem solve and collaborative well within a team environment.

  • Capability to identify process gaps and provide effective solutions.
