You will support the expansion and growth of the business in Japan. This role sits within the Asia Pacific marketing and communications team and is based in Tokyo.
The primary responsibility is to work closely with the Japan team, to execute all channel and product marketing efforts to support business growth and meet our sales objectives for Japan.

How you'll spend your time...
Product/Content Marketing

  • Drive and manage the production of all below-the-line marketing materials for Japan.
  • Adapt globally produced content to support local market needs. 
  • Develop effective presentations suitable for different audiences by working closely with Sales and the Investment teams to deliver relevant and compelling marketing messages across the Columbia Threadneedle product range. 
  • Proof-read collaterals from English to Japanese and vice versa. These can include presentation, thought leadership and digital content (website, eDM, etc.).
  • Drive above-the-line marketing campaigns to increase brand and capabilities awareness. 
  • Manage Seismic content for Japan.  
     

Channel Marketing  

  • Be the marketing lead for Japan. 
  • Manage and coordinate Columbia Threadneedle’s regional/local events and 3rd-party sponsorship events to raise the Columbia Threadneedle brand in Japan.
  • Coordinate and support media interviews and events (both sponsored and proprietary).
  • Coordinate with conference organizers for the submission of marketing materials.
  • Source and manage inventory of corporate gifts for Japan.
  • Ensure marketing collaterals, premiums and all materials are on brand.
     

APAC Marketing

  •  Assist the broader APAC Marketing team.

To be successful in this role you will have...

  • Prior marketing experience in the asset management industry or broader financial industry with sound investments literacy.
  • Good knowledge of the asset management industry and regulatory environment in Japan.
  •  Fluency (i.e. spoken and written) in English and Japanese.
  • Strong ability to multi-task, project manage and work efficiently under pressure/deadlines.
  • Strong writing and proof-reading skills.
  • Possess a creative flair 
  • Good organizational skills with an eye for details 
  • Good project management skills and a strong results-oriented focus
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

It would be great if you also had..

  • Good working knowledge of SICAV and OEIC product platforms is highly desirable.
  • Some knowledge of investment products in all asset classes across multiple jurisdictions is crucial (eg, Luxembourg, UK, Asia Pacific, US).
  • An understanding of global matrix-reporting across geographical regions and legal entities as well as the resulting functional work dynamics. Able to interface with Asian regional teams and global teams.
