Reporting into the head of Communications, Japan, t his role offers a unique opportunity to shape our communications strategies and engage with diverse audiences, both internally and externally. As a Marketing & Communications, Senior Associate within our Japan team, you will be instrumental in formulating and implementing innovative marketing and communication strategies that are in line with our business goals. Your role will involve close collaboration with senior executives and stakeholders, managing executive communications, internal communications, and media relations activities by producing high-quality content for diverse channels. Your contributions will also aid in fostering robust relationships with key local business media and ensuring impactful coverage across priority press outlets.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute communications and marketing strategies for internal and external audiences.
  • Draft and deliver communications materials, including newsletters, town halls, organizational announcements, and other messages as needed.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives in Japan and ensure consistent messaging aligned with the broader communications strategy.
  • Support business priorities and create awareness of country activities by sourcing and drafting intranet articles .
  • Drive media relations activities and manage media inquiries for the Japan franchise.
  • Create high-quality and compelling content, including thought leadership, press releases, and executive speeches.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders within a regional team and across business functions.
  • Provide communications support for sponsorships and CSR events in Japan.
  • Assist in issues management.


Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • A minimum of 6 years' experience within the Marketing & Communications field
  • Superior verbal, written, and interpersonal skills; strong editing skills in both English and Japanese.
  • Proven ability to lead, influence, and align across cross-functional teams while interacting with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize high-priority initiatives.
  • Proven relationships with key local business media.
  • Good knowledge of different channels and platforms for effective content delivery.
  • Fluency in Japanese and English.


Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Experience preferably within Corporate Communications.
  • Understanding of different communications channels .
  • Knowledge of corporate internal and employee communications strategies, best practices, implementation, and execution.
  • Experience in content creation.
  • Energetic, collaborative, and a culture-carrier.
  • Confident in managing projects across multiple lines of business.
  • Expertise in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Additional software skills (Adobe Acrobat Professional, Photoshop, HTML) are a plus.
