Job Description
The Market Leadership Team (MLT) program is a cross line of business (LOB) program designed to deliver the full force of the firm at a local level purposefully and cohesively. The MLTs are comprised of senior leaders from all LOBs in key markets across the U.S., brought together locally to develop, implement, and drive comprehensive market-specific strategies - which, along with local budgets, advance their business growth objectives while also supporting local engagement with employees and the community.
As a Vice President of MLT Market Growth Strategic Planning & Execution within our dynamic team, you will shape and drive the strategic direction among a number of local MLTs across the country. You will oversee business growth specific to several of the largest markets in the U.S., including the Midwest and Greater West regions. You will also be involved in identifying, refining, and executing on key business priorities; conducting analyses to identify major market opportunities; implementing tactics that will help drive business growth, including curating relevant, market-specific signature events; and fostering collaborative relationships across a variety of stakeholders. You will also spearhead macro-level market research that will help inform the strategies of the local MLTs and help determine the course of action to take. You will manage high-level relationships with MLTs leaders, regional Business Managers, and firmwide senior stakeholders to build rapport, drive accountability, and deliver demonstrable outcomes. The position represents an excellent opportunity to gain exposure to senior leaders across all lines of business; grow a knowledgebase of a variety of functions and businesses; and own and deliver on meaningful, impactful work.
Job responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic business plans in conjunction with aligned MLTs and oversee the execution and ongoing refinement
  • Develop JPMC-led signature events through the identification of major market opportunities, using a strategic, highly analytical approach
  • Identify value-add LOB initiatives happening at a local level that could be scaled to include other LOBs, and serve as a connector for key stakeholders
  • Manage market-specific projects or initiatives that support business growth, ensuring relevance, timely delivery, and KPIs that demonstrate outcomes
  • Conduct competitor and industry research to provide MLTs with actionable insights; track and report on associated KPIs
  • Foster and manage relationships with MLT leaders and members across assigned markets, serving as a key advisor to crystallize business strategies and activations that are focused on growth
  • Serve as an escalation point and conduit for local MLTs to activate cross-firm support where needed locally
  • Help organize and prepare for quarterly executive-level Business Review Council meetings with the U.S. LOB CEOs, ensuring all members have necessary analyses and insights on MLT strategies and outcomes
  • Oversee the annual review process for smaller markets in the region to ensure market strategies are effectively implemented and are driving demonstrable outcomes
  • Oversee the compilation of key metrics and KPIs in the markets and provide regular updates and reports on the progress of business growth initiatives and strategies, ensuring transparency, alignment, and outcomes that meet objectives
  • Gather market insights, share best practices, and develop process enhancements across all assigned MLTs to improve MLT effectiveness


Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic business development or strategy, or a leadership role in a growth-focused environment within a sizable organization or consulting firm
  • Proven ability to design, develop, and implement comprehensive growth frameworks and strategies that align with overarching business objectives and drive results
  • Proficiency in analytical skills and data-driven decision-making, with the ability to synthesize complex data, market trends, and insights to inform and refine growth strategies and the execution of them
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in presenting and advocating at executive levels
  • Proven capability to forge, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, partners, and external parties to collaborate effectively and ensure success of growth initiatives
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment, and lead and drive work from initiation to completion by driving action and outcomes, paired with strong organization skills
  • Strategic thinker with an eye towards detail and a track record of successful market strategy development and execution


Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience and expertise in identifying market opportunities and developing strategic plans to execute on those opportunities (such as hosting signature events) strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of one or more of the JPMC lines of business strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of assigned regions strongly preferred
