About The Role:
The Startup Market Developer, a key driver of Notion's growth and adoption within the Japan startup ecosystem, will report to the Japan marketing lead. This role involves close collaboration with the GM of Japan and is part of our Regional Japan Marketing team.
By leveraging effective sales and relationship-building skills, these efforts directly contribute to the growth of Notion within the startup community.
This is a contractor role with a minimum time commitment of 24 hours/week for 3 months initially (with the potential to extend).
What You'll Achieve:
- Collaborate with our global and regional team to curate lists of startups and potential partners for our Notion for Startup program
- Build and execute compelling outreach campaigns to encourage startups and partners to submit their applications and building a strong network of partners
- Plan and implement events and initiatives that connect Notion with the CxOs of startups and executives of VCs, accelerators, incubators.
- Provide regular reporting and valuable recommendations to optimize our growth efforts
Skills You'll Need to Bring:
- Experience in and passion for the startup ecosystem
- Minimum 5 year of experience in a GTM (business/commercial) function
- Track record of interacting with startup founders, VC firms, and incubators
- Demonstrated expertise in partnerships, business development, and handling successful outbound campaigns
- Exceptional communication and relationship building skills with both technical and business audiences
- Has direct relations with the CxOs of startups and executives of VCs, accelerators, incubators in Japan
- Notion power user who can deliver Notion enablement trainings
- Experience with sales tooling and automation workflows
- Business fluency in English
- A builder mindset

- Former founder of a tech startup or first sales/marketing operator at an early-stage venture
