Job Description
A Market Associate has expertise on products and processes at a minimum of two retail stations at an Eataly. A Market Associate shares knowledge about products and ingredients with guests and recommends products and portion sizes. Reports to the Fulfillment Operations Manager and Market Lead.
· Assists the retail counters with daily operations and provides a steady presence on the floor, consistently interacting with guests, employees and vendors to ensure counters are running smoothly
· Stocks retail counters and display refrigerators neatly, accurately and in a timely manner
· Assists in stocking or transporting items to the proper location within the store
· Rotates products according to First In First Out (FIFO) standards
· Scheduled shifts may include handling guest payment and ensuring accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursements. Verifies employee discounts, returns, exchanges and voids.
· Communicates any price or tag discrepancies to the Manager or Shift lead.
· Communicates any guest complaints or suggestions to the Manager or Shift Lead
· Weighs, labels, displays, sells and packages products per department standards and guest specifications
· Performs light cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting and packaging disposal as needed
· Performs other duties as required or assigned
Compensation: The base rate for this position is $17-21 per hour.
Qualifications
· 2+ years of experience in food service
· Strong knowledge of hospitality industry steps of service
· Great communication and problem-solving skills
· Knowledge of Italian products preferred
Job Requirements
· Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule sometimes including evenings, weekends and holidays
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
· Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
