Job Description:

As a Manual QA Engineer at Gesture, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital products. Leveraging your expertise in manual testing techniques and methodologies, with a focus on our core tech stack (NodeJS, React, and React Native), you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement comprehensive testing strategies and deliver high-quality solutions that delight our customers.

• Design and execute manual test cases for frontend (React), mobile (React Native), and backend (NodeJS) applications (80% of role).
• Perform thorough exploratory testing to identify edge cases and potential issues within our core tech stack.
• Conduct usability testing and provide feedback on user experience for React and ReactNative applications.
• Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts specific to NodeS, React, and React Native applications.
• Perform regression testing to ensure new changes don't introduce bugs across our tech stack.
• Log and document bugs in the tracking system with clear, reproducible steps.
• Collaborate with developers to ensure testability and maintainability of the NodeS, React, and React Native codebase.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback from a QA perspective, particularly for React and React Native components.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest manual testing trends and methodologies relevant to our tech stack.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of automated test scripts for NodeS, React, and React Native applications (20% of role).
• Contribute to the continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
• Ensure maximum test coverage for the most critical features of the system across our core technologies.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software testing, excluding internship experience.
• Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: TypeScript, JavaScript.
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
• Experience with test management tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, qTest).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and best practices, particularly for NodeJS, React, and React Native applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to think critically about potential edge cases in web and mobile applications.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and data testing in NodeS environments.
• Solid understanding of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and React concepts.
• Familiarity with mobile app testing principles, especially for React Native applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• ISTQB certification or equivalent.
• Experience with both iOS and Android mobile app testing.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab Actions).
• Knowledge of accessibility testing principles for web and mobile applications.
• Basic scripting skills in JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Experience with performance and load testing concepts for web and mobile applications.
• Familiarity with test reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Datadog, New Relic, Looker Studio, Allure, ReportPortal).
• Basic understanding of automated testing frameworks for NodeS, React, and React Native applications (e.g., Jest, Enzyme, Cypress, Appium).

The pay range for this role is $80k to $120k annual, in addition to commissions and bonuses. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
