The Manager, Technical Product Management (Mgr., TPM) is responsible for leading a team that drives product strategy, requirements and customer success. Success in this role will require well-developed skills in listening to customer/prospect needs, analyzing market dynamics, setting product directions, and leading their team. They have management responsibilities for a team of Technical Product Management professionals and are responsible for delivery and success of the BIG-IP Next product.

You will manage a team of Technical Product Managers responsible for product lifecycle from technical definition and introduction to end-of-life. We work collaboratively, driving strategic alignment within the organization, and have the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external audiences. We develop requirements using a balance of future vision, near term opportunities, customer requirements, business expertise, and management of day-to-day product issues. The Mgr., TPM will engage with executives, business partners, channel, and end users. The position is dynamic and multifaceted: success will be driven by becoming comfortable with frequent multi-tasking among technical, business, strategic, marketing and planning activities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage team members to successfully complete product line/program strategy, establish measurable goals and objectives that meet strategic goals
  • Be the company’s authority for technical product roadmap and execution for the BIG-IP Next product
  • Identify potential market segments and their profitability
  • Contribute to product strategy solutions in the ADC and Security sectors
  • Accurately target the product in the market, build competitive advantages, and provide the go to market implementation in order to shorten the time of sale for maximum sales efficiency
  • Responsible for market analyses, product/solutions requirements definition, and financial return on investment analyses to guide strategic product roadmaps
  • Illustrate the vision and key phases of the product delivery with targeted timeframes via the Roadmap
  • Engage customers and prospects to understand and meet their business goals with f5 product solutions
  • Create and maintain technical documents for product requirements based on market inputs such as: customer calls/visits, partners, trends, field feedback, services, win/loss analysis, competitive analysis, and other market opportunities
  • Partner with marketing, engineering, services, sales, and customers to drive product direction for F5’s products, including Buy, Build, or Partner solution delivery.
  • Create and deliver presentations tailored to various audiences and act as a key evangelist for F5 to the F5 product/solution set
  • Create reports that track performance of assigned product(s) based on customer success metrics

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong customer orientation with the ability to listen, organize and champion key initiatives and projects for product development
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with ability to articulate complex technology clearly
  • Experience with Agile development methods and process
  • Flexible, self-motivated, positive teammate
  • Ability to work independently or lead others on projects
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal & persuasion skills
  • May require travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 5-20% of the time spent traveling.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree in relevant field required, MBA a plus
  • 3+ years of experience in product management or equivalent
  • 3+ years of technical experience in the ADC market space including management products
  • 2+ years analyzing products, customers and market dynamics a plus

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $152,107.00 - $228,161.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
