Sinch is seeking a talented and experienced Team Lead to join our dynamic organization. As a Team Lead at Sinch, you will be responsible for leading a team of highly skilled professionals and driving their success in achieving team goals and targets. Your role will involve managing and developing team members, coordinating team activities, and providing guidance and support to ensure the team's performance and overall success.

Key responsibilities:

  • Define the team's strategic goals and align them with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and implement operational frameworks and long-term plans to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Create a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning and design and execute training programs to upskill team members and improve performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day team operations, ensuring projects and tasks meet deadlines with high quality.
  • Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives and act as the primary point of escalation for critical technical issues.
  • Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) to ensure operational consistency.
  • Continuously evaluate workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
  • Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual interventions in recurring tasks.
  • Develop disaster recovery and business continuity plans for the technical environment.
  • Serve as the liaison between the technical team and other departments (e.g., engineering, product, and client support teams).
  • Manage relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring service delivery meets or exceeds expectations.
  • Track, analyze, and report key performance metrics for individuals and teams to the management.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve team performance and productivity
  • Collaborate with other teams and departments to achieve shared goals and objectives
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in team leadership and management
Requirements
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) or IT operations (e.g., ITIL) are a plus.
  • Previous experience managing technical teams in IT services, staffing, or operations-focused industries.
  • Strong scripting capabilities (e.g., Bash, Python) and solid understanding of networking concepts (OSI model, TCP/IP).
  • Advanced knowledge of Linux/UNIX environments and application performance tuning.
  • Experience with DB administration (e.g., MySQL), Redis and knowledge of private cloud platforms (e.g., KVM, Proxmox)
  • Proven expertise in configuring and managing monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Prometheus).
  • Minimum of 7+ years in technical roles with at least 3 years in managerial positions.
  • Demonstrated success in leading teams of 10+ members, including Team Leads and Engineers.
  • Experience managing multiple high-pressure projects and meeting strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills for dealing with internal teams and demanding clients.
  • Ability to resolve conflicts and make informed, strategic decisions under pressure.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Experience leading automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Design and execute training programs to upskill team members and improve performance.
  • Understanding of scripting knowledge (e.g., Bash Shell scripts, Python) and understanding of networking concepts (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with engineering to implement those fixes.
  • Install, configure, update and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
  • Solid experience in the database administration e.g. (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis)
  • Prior experience in a leadership position, preferably in a similar industry
  • Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proven past experience as a Team Lead or similar role with team handling experience.
  • Past Experience with monitoring systems and configuration of Nagios tool.
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting UNIX /Linux based environments

Who are you?

Experience : 7 to 11 yrs

  • Educational Qualification : B.Tech./B.E/BCA/BSc(IT)
  • MYSQL installation and backup and query execution
  • Tomcat & NginX Webservers installation and management
  • Server hardening and security

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have:

  • Knowledge of Redis Sharding, Messaging queue, Oracle, shell scripts
  • RHCE - Certification
