Job Summary
The management position responsible for System Engineering is responsible for providing leadership in all programmatic aspects for plant reliability. This includes life cycle management of plant assets, outage scoping activities, system health monitoring activities, management of risks associated with plant operation, and support of maintenance and operations. This is accomplished by monitoring system and equipment performance, anticipating, defining, and preventing problems, identifying and implementing improvements, and resolving unexpected problems consistent with Regulatory and Industry guidance. The System Engineering management position is also responsible for implementation of station Maintenance Rule program.
Primary Responsibilities
• Maximize plant reliability and power generation.
• Support major plant system operation.
• Plant systems monitoring and trend analysis.
• Cause analysis for plant system and program issues.
• Component criticality determination for plant components.
• Resolution of plant system issues through troubleshooting support.
• Maximize staff productivity.
• Management of department expenditures to meet budgetary commitments.
• Champion process and plant changes to improve station efficiency.
• Interface with regulatory and industry representatives on behalf of station activities.
FSAR Qualifications
- Education: Shall hold a baccalaureate or higher degree in engineering or the physical sciences.
- Experience: Shall have ten years of experience related to engineering or the physical sciences, including five years nuclear-related experience that includes participation in the activities of an operating nuclear power plant.
Other Basic Qualifications
- Three (3) years of professional level experience in nuclear services, nuclear plant operations or nuclear engineering.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with employees at various levels of the organization, including vendors.
- Previously held or currently holds equivalent management positions at any commercial facility: Maintenance Manager, Maintenance Department Head, Operations Manager, or Assistant Operations Manager.
