Your Responsibilities
- Inspire and lead a team of technology professionals; drive associate engagement and help build and support individual career development plans
- Deliver exceptional technology solutions that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations on time and on budget.
- Partner with key business stakeholders to recommend technology solutions, define requirements, prioritize backlogs and identify project Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
- Partner and align with the Program Management Office, Architecture and Information Security teams.
- Manage the development and deployment of new applications, systems software, and/or enhancements to existing applications.
- Review and analyze existing applications' effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving, retiring, or leveraging these systems.
- Drive a continuous improvement process across all your teams by making data-driven decisions.
- Ensure systems are secure, stable, and scalable.
Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
- A minimum of 7 years’ of experience in Information Technology, primarily focused on software development and software applications within Salesforce.
- At least 3 years’ experience in leading software development teams
- A breadth of experience with the Salesforce ecosystem, emphasizing Sales Cloud and Salesforce Experience Cloud.
- Proficient understanding of Salesforce administration, including Salesforce lightning framework and object-oriented programming languages such as Apex and Java and items related to it (LWC, App Builder, JavaScript)
- Experience with AWS cloud, especially Lambda/Python, Event Bridge, S3 buckets and EC2
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture concepts, web/RESTful services, and event-driven architecture.
- Proficient in agile software development methodologies and requirements gathering
- Experience working in a cross-functional environment working under tight deadlines
- Experience facilitating & developing IT/Business roadmaps and strategic communications for non-IT leaders.
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
- Experience in business process modeling & reengineering.
- Track record of building effective teams, cultivating innovation, and developing talent
- Clear communication and orchestration of technical resources
- Working knowledge of Jira, Bitbucket, CI/CD tools such as Copado, and overall DevOps experience
- Proven ability to build order out of chaos with minimal guidance
- Salesforce Certifications Preferred: Salesforce Administrator, Certified Platform Developer I and II, and Application Architect
Your Team
This is a leadership role that will report to the Sr. Director, Software Engineering. You will have up to 12 direct reports and collaborate with cross-functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Manager, Software Engineering, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art technology hub in Scottsdale, AZ. In October 2021, Choice opened a newly constructed world class technology center.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $140,000 to $165,000 annually. In addition to the annual salary, this role is eligible for an annual bonus based on the terms of Choice's Management Incentive Plan (MIP).
The pay range listed is for this position and is what Choice Hotels reasonably expects to pay. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
