Position Summary
The Manager of Scheduling is responsible for overseeing and coordinating production schedules across multiple manufacturing sites. This role ensures that production timelines are met efficiently and effectively while optimizing resource utilization. The Manager of Scheduling will work closely with site managers, production teams, supply chain, and other stakeholders to ensure that production plans align with company objectives and customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Manage Production Schedules:
- Create, implement, and monitor detailed production schedules for multiple manufacturing sites.
- Coordinate with site managers to adjust schedules as needed to accommodate changes in demand, equipment availability, or workforce capacity.
- Ensure that all production schedules align with overall business objectives and customer delivery timelines.
- Monitor late production orders and assess material availability to determine optimal run times, ensuring timely completion and efficient resource utilization.
- Resource Allocation:
- Collaborate with supply chain, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure that materials, labor, and equipment are available to meet production schedules.
- Identify and address potential bottlenecks or resource shortages in advance to avoid disruptions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with site managers, quality control, engineering, and maintenance teams to ensure that production schedules are feasible and do not compromise product quality or safety.
- Coordinate with sales and customer service teams to align production schedules with customer orders and expectations.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Analyze production performance data and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
- Implement best practices and standardized processes across all manufacturing sites to streamline scheduling and production operations.
- Risk Management:
- Anticipate and mitigate risks that could impact production schedules, such as equipment failures, supply chain disruptions, or labor shortages.
- Develop contingency plans and communicate them to relevant stakeholders.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Generate regular reports on production progress, schedule adherence, and resource utilization for senior management.
- Communicate schedule changes and updates to all relevant teams promptly.
Experience & Skills
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in production scheduling, planning, or operations management within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing schedules across multiple sites is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, capacity planning, and resource management.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in scheduling software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions
- This role will require 25-50% travel between manufacturing sites
- Likely more than 50% as part of initial onboarding.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including time spent on the production floor.
