POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists the Senior Construction EHS Manager in all EHS related matters. Responsible for EHS functions necessary to support Leeward Renewable Energy LLC (LRE) Construction at an assigned jobsite.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Provide Safety Leadership creating enthusiasm and participation among management and craft workers, resulting in excellent safety performance.
- Work directly with the Site Manager and the management team to develop and implement and maintain an effective site-specific safety program.
- Communicate between LRE and client management regarding safety matters.
- Assist with executing the LRE safety strategy and zero accident culture on assigned project(s).
- Monitoring daily construction activities for compliance with OSHA and LRE rules/policies.
- Implement the project’s LRE program.
- Monitor monthly safety training for completion.
- Review and provide job safety analysis feedback.
- Perform workplace audits and inspections to closure.
- Monitor and provide training to project personnel on Concern Reports and Safety Observations.
- Assist in incident investigations and notifications as needed.
- Input and review incident reports.
- Assist in the execution of the jobsite safety plans.
Required Skills
WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
- Minimum of ten (10) years of EHS experience in construction.
- Minimum of five (5) years of EHS experience in renewable energy (i.e., solar, battery, wind, etc.).
- Holds a current CHST certification. Required
- CSP certification. Preferred.
- Occupational Safety bachelor's degree or related from an accredited institution. Preferred.
- 5 years of experience as an EHS Supervisor/Manager. Required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Take ownership of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward LRE’s Zero Injury principles.
- Possess excellent people skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels in a construction environment.
- Candidate must also be proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Type and author reports with accuracy and appropriate grammar.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to position objects and operate tools or controls.
- The employee regularly is required to remain in a stationary position and move to access people or machinery or workspaces.
- The employee shall have the ability to climb wind turbines and provide a tower EHS presence.
- Employee is occasionally required to ascend and/or descend a ladder or stairs to reach
work areas. - The employee must regularly move up to 20 pounds and occasionally move up to 50 pounds.
- The employee is regularly required to travel (as vehicle driver and as passenger on various modes of transportation) and frequently performs work on-site at construction work sites.
- Specific abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Employee views computer monitor regularly.
- The employee is required to be able to effectively communicate while on the job site and throughout the completion of duties.
- The working conditions of this position requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
- Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to maintain safety and prevent exposure to harmful materials.
- The environment for which this position functions may be exposed to prolonged loud noises and may contain scents and fragrances.
- Will be required to work overtime and weekends as project needs warrant.
