As a Manager Risk and Control Advisory, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, Risk and Control Advisory and will support the Group Treasury business with ensuring compliance with the Operational Risk Frameworks, policies and controls. You will provide support on operational risk matters across the Group Treasury portfolio as well as develop and improve processes through automation and visualisation.

Group Treasury as part of Financial Services is accountable for the management of the non-traded market risk for CBA, including interest rate, foreign exchange, funding and liquidity risks associated with the Group’s lending and deposit taking business and the investment of shareholders’ funds.
Group Treasury’s remit also incorporates capital optimization, as well as the assessment and monitoring of the Group’s overall balance sheet performance. It owns and executes a liability and funding strategy consistent with an objective of balance sheet optimization while adhering to the regulatory requirements.
On any given day, you will:

Support Group Treasury in implementing and adhering to the Operational Risk and Compliance Management Framework.

Responsible for ensuring risks and obligations are profiled, appropriately captured and reported on as well as reviewed and updated when risk trigger events occur.

Design and implement controls to enable better risk and compliance outcomes.

Raise Issues and Incidents, hold Root Cause Analysis for issues and incidents and assist in identifying and implementing rectification and remediation actions.

Conduct operational risk training programs to increase risk awareness and culture.

Collaborate with Line 2 and 3 to support reviews and audits.

Support business stakeholders in improving and automating processes and assist in change management risk assessments.

Report on operational risk and control profiles, issues, incidents, and other matters as required.

Engage with various parts of Group Treasury, Institutional Banking & Markets (IB&M) and the wider Group, assisting in completing necessary reviews.

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:

Sound experience in a Line 1 risk advisory function.

Strong knowledge of Operational Risk and Compliance Management frameworks.

Experience in Treasury, Markets (including Operations) and/ or Institutional Trading products would be advantageous.

Ability to think critically and analytically and use data driven insights to solve problems.

Demonstrate accountability and ability to challenge

Experience with Tableau or Alteryx is highly desirable

Influencing and consulting skills, the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Proactive and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

An academic or a professional qualification in a related field that supports the performance of the position is preferable.
