Within Financial Services, Business Bank Finance consists of about 80 finance professionals who provide financial performance and analysis services for effective decision-making in the Business Bank division.
The CommSec Finance team is a divisional finance team who provide specialist finance services and advice to effectively support the CommSec business.
Business Banking is part of the Group and contributes ~$4bn to group profit, generating annual revenues of ~$9bn with approximately 6,000 employees globally. BB covers:
- Major Client Group (large corporates)
- Corporate Banking (metro business customers)
- Regional and Agribusiness (rural/agricultural businesses)
- Small Business Banking (local small businesses); as well as
- Equities and Margin Lending (such as CommSec)
Do work that matters
As the Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Reporting, you will play a pivotal role across BB finance in terms of
- Strong collaboration with colleagues to deliver outcomes for BB Finance
- Delivering monthly reporting requirements to multiple stakeholders
- Identifying performance optimization and efficiency opportunities
- Participating in a proactive risk based culture
- Effectively leverage BI platforms focused on extracting commercial benefit
- Providing meaningful performance insights for the business whilst driving continuous process improvement, achieving an effective governance and control environment, and reporting function
We’re interested in hearing from people who will aspire to
- Manage the month end reporting cycle, half and full year end reporting
- Coordinate and deliver annual, quarterly, and monthly forecasts
- Ensure the strength of Financial controls - financial and non-financial risk control oversight
- Engage with BB Finance to ensure a proactive and transparent approach to risk
- Participate in supporting and/or leading strategic initiatives within BB Finance
- Develop advanced analytical skills utilising the Group’s data assets to understand and promote business growth
- Comply with group wide policies and delivery protocols
- Assess business opportunities and providing commercial advice and input
- Support the business with ad-hoc financial analysis and decision support
- Facilitate process improvement initiatives to the reporting, planning and analysis
- Analyse business drivers including revenue, costs, asset and liability growth, ROTE and PACC
- Be part of and contribute to a strong and vibrant team culture.
Other qualities you may possess include
- Excellent commercial acumen
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Financial Control experience
- Excellent leadership skills
- High degree of problem solving and analytical ability with a close attention to detail
- Self-motivated with an ability to work to deadlines and without supervision
- SQL, Alteryx and Tableau (BI/MI tools) experience an advantage
- Preferable experience in the Financial Services industry
- The ability to build positive working relationships with senior stakeholders across the Business and Finance
- The ability to work and prioritise in a dynamic, changing environment
