Manager – Detection Automation
A Manager – Detection Automation plans and directs all aspects of research and development activities within their teams. This means that they ensure all detection engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with the organization's established policies and objectives. They report into a Senior Manager of R&D. They work closely with R&D Leadership, Product Management and Security Services (S2) to ensure their teams are building what our customers and users need in a timely fashion. Managers can also have specialized subject matter expertise within the technical areas their teams work in.
Scope of Role
Generates and manages day to day work for team(s). Works with Product Team to define and deliver on the product roadmap. Is also a key contributor to longer term planning and strategy with their Director.
Basic Qualifications
· 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on detection engineering and development
· 2+ years of management or team lead experience in a cybersecurity or software engineering role.
· Strong understanding of product lifecycle and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
· Proficiency in network protocols, network security architecture, and network monitoring tools.
· Experience with developing detection content based on host and network artifacts.
· Experience with EDR/XDR (Endpoint/Extended Detection & Response) solutions.
· Familiarity with detection efficacy, value and cost optimizations
· Experience with the lifecycle of a detection and Detections-as-Code workflows.
· Familiarity with SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tools like Splunk, ELK Stack, or similar.
· Strong knowledge of intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and threat intelligence platforms.
· Competency in programming languages such as Python or Scala
· Experience working with big data technologies such as Spark, Databricks, or Snowflake is a plus.
· Experience leading Agile development teams, preferably with formal Agile training
· A clear history of learning and skills development. Regularly helps detection developers develop their skills in a variety of ways.
· Professional certifications in Security are required (i.e. CISSP, eJPT, OSCP, OSCE).
· Permanently located in Bengaluru, India
· Nice to have: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
AS A MANAGER – DETECTION AUTOMATION YOU WILL
· Manage team(s) that will deliver high quality, innovative detection content through automation, in collaboration with stakeholders such as architects, developers, product managers, CSEs and prod support people.
· Support the team by providing direction, clarity and removing obstacles.
· Drive continuous development process improvements.
· Execute the Product roadmap
o Ensure teams are highly motivated, performing well, and delivering work on time.
o Remove any blockers preventing teams from getting their work done.
o Make sure each team is clear on the objectives and goals they are striving to achieve.
o Work with team members to deliver the key features
o Work with Architects to define and execute on the company's technical roadmap.
· Implement the R&D Department and Team Responsibilities.
o Oversee the full software development life cycle.
o Ensure their teams is following ISMS regulations
