Position Summary

As Procurement Manager, you will manage and direct the procurement of assigned commodities for the Architectural Framing Systems (AFS) procurement organization. This role will be responsible for developing and executing cost-effective procurement strategies that support business objectives, maintaining supplier performance, negotiating favorable commercial agreements, and improving and enhancing quality of purchases and timeliness of deliveries. In this role, you will lead a team of buyers and execute leveraged sourcing strategies across AFS that aligns with company priorities, growth initiatives, and minimizes business risks. This role will report directly to the Sr. Director of AFS Procurement. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement purchasing strategies and policies to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
  • Manage and supervise a buying team, including hiring, training, evaluating, and mentoring staff.
  • Manage supplier performance utilizing supplier scorecards and address any issues or concerns regarding supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and Enterprise Category Leaders to develop, implement, and execute strategic sourcing strategies that drive efficiency, cost savings, and process improvement.
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, price fluctuations, supply and demand, and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and quality improvement. 
  • Leverage data and analytics to identify opportunities for cost reduction, risk mitigation, and performance enhancement.
  • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost-effectiveness, reliability, and other relevant criteria.
  • Negotiate agreements with suppliers and service providers to ensure optimal terms and conditions.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as managers, customers, and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, delivery, and service levels.
  • Define and implement comprehensive strategies to reduce costs, mitigate risk, improve quality, shorten lead-times and reduce inventories.
  • Drive improvement in cashflow through improvements in payment terms and inventory management.
  • Act as a procurement liaison for site operations and manufacturing.

Experience & Skills

Experience:

  • Bachelor Degree in Supply Chain or business related field (Master Degree Preferred)
  • 8+ years in relevant business experience
  • 5+ years in relevant procurement-related capacity
  • CPSM and/or APICS certification a plus

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience leading industry best practice procurement teams
  • Experience implementing significant improvements or establishing procurement industry best practices across functional areas
  • Strategic thought leader backed by an added focus on the tactical buying aspects
  • Strong background in procurement technologies, including Source to Pay and third-party performance and risk management
  • Leadership and governance of procurement processes and project teams
  • Ability to recognize and adjust to change and learn quickly, thoroughly, and in detail
  • Strong MRP and ERP technology background in support of the Source to Pay process
  • Proven successful track record in leadership roles
  • Strong communication and leadership skills dealing with cross-functional teams
  • People management & development
  • Ability to create a disciplined process
  • Strong Change Management Skills
