Revolution Medicines is a clinical-stage precision oncology company focused on developing novel targeted therapies to inhibit frontier targets in RAS-addicted cancers. The company’s R&D pipeline comprises RAS(ON) Inhibitors designed to suppress diverse oncogenic variants of RAS proteins, and RAS Companion Inhibitors for use in combination treatment strategies. The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to help guide the organization through challenging portfolio decisions as part of the new Portfolio Management group. It will involve exposure to the details of drug development and the breadth of functions at a thriving biotech, along with development of facilitation skills to enable business-critical trade-off decisions. This individual will leverage their comprehension of system-wide applications and processes to help construct a suite of methodologies, tools, and processes to ensure consistency and excellence for program risk assessment, portfolio trade-off decision-making, and pipeline modelling. In collaboration with program and alliance management, they will be responsible for providing consolidated program information drive decision-making for diverse business applications.
Overall, the Portfolio Manager will have an aptitude for data analysis whilst staying focused on the “big picture.” This will help them to structure data and problems, thereby helping senior management arrive at solutions. The role is envisioned to have a significant impact on building out the necessary infrastructure to achieve our ambitious organizational growth needs.
In partnership with the Head of Portfolio Management, the successful candidate will draw upon their experience to:

Work closely with PMs and functional team members to identify key inflection points and prepare for critical decisions.

Drive adoption of portfolio management software, dashboards, and reporting tools to provide real-time visibility into project status, risks, and financials.

Define useful portfolio frameworks, relevant metrics and implement effective decision-making tools for individual projects and across the portfolio.

Facilitate cross-functional risk assessment and decision-making meetings to support program advancement.

Elevate portfolio management competencies across the organization.

Required Skills, Experience and Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant scientific discipline (Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or other related scientific discipline) strongly preferred.

Data analysis and problem-parsing skillset, as might be acquired in the pursuit of an MD, PhD, PharmD, MPH, MBA, or consulting (advanced degree preferred but not required).

5 years of academic or industry experience (including time spent pursuing a higher degree); understanding of clinical development and/or commercial activities is a plus.

Must be a self-starter and able to function independently in a fluid environment under tight timelines.

The base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000 - $172,000 for candidates working onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA. The range displayed on each job posting is intended to be the salary for an individual working onsite in Redwood City and will be adjusted for the local market a candidate is based in. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, market dynamics, and relevant education or training.
