Vestmark is actively seeking a Manager, Payroll & Expense Management to oversee the expense and payroll lifecycles, ensuring accurate financial records, payroll compliance, and efficient financial processes, while also managing and developing the accounting and accounts payable team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Expense Management:
- Manage and oversee the expense lifecycle, including general ledger entries, and accounts payable
- Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements.
- Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures.
- Manage cash flow and forecasting.
- Payroll Management:
- Oversee and execute accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salaries, benefits, taxes, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reports.
- Manage year-end payroll processes, including W-2 preparation.
- Work with payroll software and systems.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise and mentor accounting and accounts payable staff, providing guidance and support.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback.
- Other Responsibilities:
- Participate in audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as HR and finance.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in accounting management, including payroll management. 4-6 years of experience in accounting and payroll fields.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll regulations, and financial reporting.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in Netsuite accounting software and ADP payroll systems.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
