About the Manager of the Office of the CPO role
We are seeking a Manager of the Office of the CPO to join our expanding team and play a pivotal part in supporting the Chief Product Officer by managing strategic initiatives, departmental planning and optimising execution across the organisation, as well as internal communications and collaboration.
What you will be doing as Manager of the Office of the CPO
Planning and Operational Management
- Working closely with the CPO and product leadership team to develop and implement strategic plans, ensuring that all initiatives align with the organisations overall business objectives
- Sharing ongoing updates, strategic plans and roadmaps to Executive Committee, Board, clients, partners and internal stakeholders
- Overseeing the daily operations of the CPO activities including scheduling, prioritising and managing workflows to ensure efficient execution of responsibilities
- Managing budget planning and resource allocation for product initiatives and projects. Monitoring expenditures and tracking financial performance against budgetary targets including tooling, headcount and travel
- Identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational effectiveness. Implementing best practices and standard methodologies to optimise workflow and productivity
- Leading resource allocation and training plan initiatives, to ensure the Product team is appropriately resourced and skilled to deal with expected deliverables
Data & Reporting
- Developing and implementing data strategies to ensure that the CPO has clear visibility into all relevant performance metrics
- Establishing KPIs and metrics to track the progress and outcomes of product initiatives. Providing regular updates and reports to the CPO on performance metrics and project status for all stages of the development lifecycle
- Preparing revenue and expense management performance data and reporting at executive and board level
- Tracking contractual obligations across vendor relationships
Quality & Controls
- Driving a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging team members to prioritise quality, ensuring that all processes and projects under the CPO’s responsibility meet the highest standards of excellence
- Identifying potential risks and challenges related to projects and initiatives. Developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans to minimise disruptions and ensure project success
Innovation & Design
- Implementing innovative and effective operational processes to ensure high-performance, agility and cost effectiveness
- Designing processes to support effective departmental optimisation and performance
Strategic Impact
- Working with the CPO to define and communicate the strategic direction for the product function, ensuring that product initiatives are closely aligned with organisational goals and emerging market trends
- Evaluating and allocating resources towards the most impactful product projects and initiatives, maximising the CPO’s strategic impact across the organisation
- Assisting the CPO in developing and executing strategic initiatives, including long-term planning, goal setting and performance tracking. Providing analytical insights and recommendations to support decision making
What you will bring to the Manager of the Office of the CPO role
- Extensive business management experience gained in fast-paced, financial technology-driven environments
- Experience with annual planning and strategy development
- Experience with financial analysis, forecasting and budget management
- The ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights to support decision-making
- Proven success in project management and leading cross-functional teams
- Experience creating high quality and impact presentations for executive audiences and leverage tracking and reporting tools and methodologies that drive efficiency
- Experience supporting initiatives that drive high performance including planning and managing department activities, training, process and workflow improvement
- Experience developing and managing departmental OKR’s
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a focus on driving innovation and continuous improvement
