As the Manager IT & OT Technology for LRE you will oversee the technical aspects of SCADA system design, site development, and deployment for renewable energy projects through FAT/SAT testing and systems and sites commissioning. This role involves managing a team of SCADA engineers and technical project managers; and network security engineers coordinating with the other IT & OT managers and leads along with all the organization and third-party stakeholders to ensure successful project execution from conception through commissioning. Travel may be required during project design, repower / reconfiguration of various environments, and new site deployments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the technology convergence team on the development and deployment of SCADA systems, obtaining and/or consolidating communication circuits for renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage as well as for the organization in total
• Provide technical guidance on SCADA system design, integration, and implementation along with communication circuits
• Supervise and mentor a team of engineers and technical project managers, ensuring high performance and professional growth.
• Collaborate with project stockholders, developers, contractors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and successful project delivery.
• Oversee project budgets, ensuring cost-effective solutions and adherence to financial constraints.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of SCADA systems and associated communications infrastructure
Identify and mitigate risks associated with SCADA systems and associated communications infrastructure design, deployment, and site development.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and commissioning reports.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance SCADA systems and associated communications infrastructure performance and project delivery processes.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred and/or 8+ years of experience in SCADA systems and associated communications infrastructure design and deployment, with at least 2 years in a managerial role preferred.
• Proficiency in SCADA software (e.g., Wonderware, Ignition), networking, and communication protocols.
• Strong project management skills with experience in energy projects preferably renewable energy projects
• Proven leadership abilities with experience managing, mentoring, and developing engineering and technical project management teams
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.
• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with renewable energy projects and familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
• Working knowledge of NERC compliance requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
