Job Summary
The Manager, Investment Center of Excellence (COE) – Investment Analytics will lead the Investment COE – Investment Analytics team responsible for compiling analysis to support underlying Statutory and GAAP investment portfolio results and preparing presentation materials for communicating those results to senior management. The Investment COE – Investment Analytics team is responsible for delivering value-added business analysis and meaningful financial metrics, as it relates to the investment portfolio in support of enterprise-wide decision-making and has a comprehensive understanding of key business drivers.
The Manager, Investment COE – Investment Analytics reports directly to the Director, Investment COE – Investment Analytics and will have 2 direct reports. This position will work closely with the other teams within the Investment COE, Investment Strategy, FP&A, Financial Reporting and third-party asset managers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the timely output of data, analytics and insights that articulate a clear understanding of the results of the Company’s investment portfolio.
- Lead the Investment COE – Investment Analytics data processes and assist the team to drive the creation of scalable processes and methods for investment analytics to support broader organizational goals.
- Use advanced understanding of investments to assist in developing the narrative for investment portfolio performance.
- Assist with the design and delivery of investment results for executive-level presentations, ensuring alignment with corporate FP&A strategy.
- Assist the Investment COE team to transform investment income analysis processes, focusing on scalability and automation.
- Collaborate with the Investment Strategy and Investment FP&A teams to integrate systems, processes and procedures.
- Provide Investment Strategy data and information to support the Company’s forecasting process.
- Lead and mentor investment analytics team to ensure production of deliverables to key stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Collaborate with other areas of the Investment COE to provide ad-hoc investment reporting and analysis.
- Support the Director, Investment Center of Excellence – Investment Analytics with special projects, as needed.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in investment accounting, investment reporting and/or financial planning & analysis required.
- Prior experience supervising or managing a team.
- Experience with GAAP and statutory accounting for insurance company general account portfolios preferred.
- CPA, CFA and/or MBA preferred.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Strong Statutory and GAAP accounting and reporting knowledge for limited partnerships, fixed income investments, and structured securities.
- Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills.
- Strong computer knowledge including high level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity and knowledge of SQL, Tableau and Alteryx a plus.
- Strong experience with accounting subledger and ledgers, investment data, databases and report writing.
- Ability to handle multiple complex tasks and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to collaborate with other teams, challenging current processes and driving efficiencies.

- Some travel required (less than 10%).
