The Manager of HR Compliance ensures that the entire organization adheres to labor laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role is vital to the organization's success, and is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring compliance programs, onboarding requirements, and provide guidance to the entire organization with compliance-related issues. The Manager of HR Compliance is a strategic leadership role focused on ensuring adherence to HR policies and processes in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive approach that operationalizes adherence of HR programs and processes to federal, state, and local employment related regulatory requirements defined by our Legal teams.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR practices to identify areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor changes in employment laws and regulations to keep the organization informed and compliant.
  • Train and guide HR staff and management on compliance-related issues and best practices.
  • Supervise the documentation and reporting of HR compliance activities to relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present compliance reports to senior management, outlining compliance status and action plans.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance in areas such as payroll, benefits, and workplace safety.
  • Lead initiatives to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior within the organization.
  • Build and maintain end-to-end business processes for all HR compliance areas including ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, AAP and EEOC
  • Maintain compliance with i-9 records and e-Verify requirements
  • Build awareness campaigns within HR highlighting the importance of, and ongoing changes in, HR Compliance programs
  • Develop and deliver process guides and training for employees, managers, and HR
  • Provide support for questions pertaining to compliance of HR employee data and HR processes
  • Track external trends in the HR Compliance space

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required
  • 10+ years of experience in a HR Compliance or related role is preferred

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • SHRM or PHR Certification preferred

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
  • Proficient in MS Office and Workday HRIS
