Job Description Summary
The Financial Controls & Compliance (FC&C) Manager independently assess and ensures compliance with all relevant Novartis Financial Control Manual (NFCM) and other relevant requirements. FC&C Manager also collaborate with business or process owners and provide advise as a risk management expert.
Job Description
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Understand NFCM, SOX 404 and local regulations and ensure compliance with those requirements
• Implement end-to-end process walkthroughs to gain deep understanding of process
• Independently test effectiveness of NFCM controls
• In coordination with the control owner, ensure a timely reporting of control deficiencies to regional /global team members and providing clarity over remediation actions.
• Liaison with key partners, including Control Owners, CFO, FRA Head and Group Financial Controls & Compliance (GFC&C)
• Ensure transparent, reliable, and agile customer management as a financial risk management experts / advisors
• Identify potential risks and opportunity for simplification, recommend controls or business operational improvements
• Raise awareness of risks in the organization
• Support Internal and external audits requirements as needed
• Proactively leverage technology including automation
• Follow and implement global finance process improvement initiatives, sharing leading practices
Education
• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Economics or Financial related.
Qualifications
• Accounting/Compliance certification including CPA JP / US
Work Experience
• Experience with Audit and Internal Controls in Big4 audit firms – minimum 5 years
• Work experience in a multi-national, matrix organization
Skills
• Project Management skill
• SAP knowledge will have added advantage
• Soft skills: Great in communication, Team collaboration, Proactive, Flexible, Influence, Resiliency
Language
• Native level in Japanese and Advanced level in English
