We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader for a team within our Vehicle Intent Algorithm Development group. This group’s mission is to design, develop, and deliver a robust and reliable analytical-based autonomous driving solution. This solution consumes perception data and leverages classical analysis methodologies to computationally evaluate the physical world and produce safe and reliable vehicle trajectories. Teams in Algorithm Development are geographically dispersed and work closely with colleagues in machine learning, perception, motion control, and simulation.  

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage a department or complex function. Interacts with other team and department leaders to accomplish objectives
  • Timely completion, quality, and accuracy of work, ensuring compliance and specific standards are consistently met
  • Collaborate across functions and departments to meet established standards, compliance requirements, or to engage appropriately with other stakeholders
  • Manage people and identify opportunities to develop staff experience and expertise.
  • Scope of Influence: Decisions impact customer experience, technology quality, and system costs (related to multiple teams)
  • Facilitate processes for the delivery of scalable and high-quality systems products for autonomous driving vehicles and support systems. Specifically in the Data Sciences and Model Tuning space
  • Collaborates with other management and teams as needed to meet goals, monitor team performance, and achieve objectives
  • Provide career development and coaching of the team
  • Ensure the team performs at high degree to ensure objectives are met
  • Provides continuous performance feedback is delivered and compensation analysis in close collaboration with peer managers and People Operations.

What you''ll need to succeed:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor degree in Engineering; Masters degree preferred
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams - Developing complex and safety critical software; and to C++ focused development
  • 6 plus years managing engineering software development teams plus experience managing or working with teams’ familiarity with autonomous vehicle software stacks and simulation environments
  • Strong leadership skills
