What’s the job about?

You will lead and develop a large development team with initiatives to build and manage the product’s technology infrastructure, and deliver product features that expand Auvik’s total addressable market.  

The Manager, Engineering will lead a talented group of individual contributors, serve on Auvik’s Engineering Leadership team, and report to the Director of Engineering.  The Engineering Manager must have experience leading and developing people and would benefit from experience leading distributed teams.

What will I do in this role?

  • Lead engineering efforts, including implementing best practices and tools, recruiting and motivating the team, organizing and allocating development resources, and actively contributing to a strong team culture.
  • Work collaboratively with the Product Management team and other stakeholders to execute on product roadmap initiatives to deliver quality code on time, track and communicate results and business value delivered.
  • Support the team’s ongoing initiative to evolve the product’s core technology stack, using microservices and modern frameworks to meet future product and business needs.
  • Train, coach and develop employees; recruit and retain top talent. 

Successful candidates will have experience or a willingness to rapidly learn the following:

  • Lead an engineering team building software solutions.
  • Recruit, onboard, and motivate strong developers.
  • Manage teams in multiple locations; including adapting processes and tools that support scalable build up of distributed teams.
  • Advocate for and strengthen our agile methodologies; experience moving teams to CI/CD a plus.
  • Understanding of the support of production systems including Service Management methodologies (Incident and  Change  Management)

Are there bonus points?

  • Experience in Network Management and Network Monitoring.
  • Experience with Device Management and Device Identification.
  • Experience with Network Automation.
