Job Description
Coordinates ECMO/Advanced Technologies program operation, including planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving quality of services, overseeing day-to-day operations, and maintaining fiscal accountability.
Experience
- 2 years of experience as a clinical ECMO specialist in a neonatal, cardiac, and/or pediatric care setting
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master's degree
- 2 years of experience in management/administration in a healthcare setting
- Experience as an ECMO coordinator
Education
- Graduation from accredited academic clinical program and Bachelor of Science in nursing or bachelor's degree
Certification Summary
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact, or Georgia licensed Respiratory Care Professional and/or Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta ECMO specialist
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment
Job Responsibilities
- Performs ECMO/Advanced Technologies priming, emergency management, and bedside clinical care.
- Develops and coordinates program.
- Manages personnel performance evaluation process.
- Manages utilization of staff for effective and efficient services.
- Prepares and monitors operational and capital budget.
- Manages equipment and supplies.
- Integrates and promotes department/service, professional practice, and hospital goals into practice.
- Pursues educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and clinical expertise.
- Is responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team, including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
- Mentors team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
- Encourages ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
