Job Description

Coordinates ECMO/Advanced Technologies program operation, including planning, implementing, monitoring, and improving quality of services, overseeing day-to-day operations, and maintaining fiscal accountability.

Experience

  • 2 years of experience as a clinical ECMO specialist in a neonatal, cardiac, and/or pediatric care setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Master's degree
  • 2 years of experience in management/administration in a healthcare setting
  • Experience as an ECMO coordinator

Education

  • Graduation from accredited academic clinical program and Bachelor of Science in nursing or bachelor's degree

Certification Summary

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact, or Georgia licensed Respiratory Care Professional and/or Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta ECMO specialist

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must be able to successfully pass the Basic Windows Skill Assessment at 80% or higher rating within 30 days of employment

Job Responsibilities

  • Performs ECMO/Advanced Technologies priming, emergency management, and bedside clinical care.
  • Develops and coordinates program.
  • Manages personnel performance evaluation process.
  • Manages utilization of staff for effective and efficient services.
  • Prepares and monitors operational and capital budget.
  • Manages equipment and supplies.
  • Integrates and promotes department/service, professional practice, and hospital goals into practice.
  • Pursues educational and leadership opportunities to enhance professional growth and clinical expertise.
  • Is responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team, including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
  • Mentors team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
  • Encourages ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
