What's the Short Version?

The Manager, Customer Insights and Analytics is responsible for delivering data-driven insights that inform business decisions across segments, channels, and initiatives. As a leader within the Digital Product team, they translate research and analytics into actionable marketing insights and share these insights with product development, merchandising, and sales teams. This role leads the design and execution of market research projects, and develops analytical, predictive and optimization models in collaboration with other teams.
They mentor and direct the Analytics and Customer Insights team, and coordinate with other marketing departments for insight generation and reporting purposes. They utilize strong skills in building statistical models, using analytics software and programming languages in tools such as Power BI, and setting up new processes and methods to understand customer behavior.


What Will You Be Doing?

  • Lead cross-functional projects that use advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to generate insights that guide strategic decisions and optimize business outcomes.
  • Undertake new initiatives to align with gaining more insights into the customer and how they operate, such as qualitative customer interviews, customer advisory panels, etc.
  • Create and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automation systems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions.
  • Design and implement solutions to address business problems and opportunities.
  • Manage the delivery and quality of reports and insights that evaluate business functions and key operations and performance metrics.
  • Hire, train, develop and oversee analyst-level employees to ensure their data and reporting deliverables meet quality standards, and organizational expectations.
  • Streamline and improve processes for data intake, validation, mining, engineering, modeling, visualization and communication.
  • Analyze, interpret, and communicate the results and business impacts of analytical initiatives to stakeholders in leadership, technology, sales, marketing and product teams.
  • Anticipate and plan for future needs and challenges related to people, technology, budget and business within your department, and design and implement solutions to meet them.
  • Present data insights and metrics to business partners in a clear and accessible way.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Comply with all policies and standards.


What Are We Looking For?

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a position managing a team of analysts.
  • 4-6 years of experience preparing data models and reports to help drive business decisions
  • Working knowledge of data mining principles, such as predictive analytics, mapping, and collecting data from multiple data systems on premises and cloud-based data sources.
  • Strong SQL skills, and ability to perform effective queries involving multiple tables and subqueries.
  • Understanding and experience of analytical concepts and statistical techniques, such as hypothesis development, designing tests/experiments, analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and developing actionable recommendations for business units.
  • Experience and knowledge of statistical modeling techniques, such as GLM multiple regression, logistic regression, log-linear regression, variable selection, etc.
  • Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using relevant data to inform decisions.
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative, qualitative and analytical abilities.
  • Strong ability to plan and manage multiple processes, people and projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration and delegation skills.


What's Our Offer?

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $105,000 - $150,000 annually, depending on experience.


Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to 15% of base salary.


Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a bi-weekly basis based on hours worked up to 152 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 8 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

What Should You Expect?

Hybrid: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work environment is moderately quiet. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.
SanMar's Eastpointe office is located near Seattle, WA and our standard working hours are 8:00-5:00 PST. Quarterly travel may be required.
