Opportunity Overview:
We are seeking an innovative, energetic, technically savvy individual with experience in company communications in a remote environment, communication platforms, change management and engagement to support the operations of a fast-paced health tech company. The Manager, Corporate Communications and Workplace Experience is critical to help build a great culture and implement the tools and resources to help facilitate that in a remote-first environment. This role will work closely with our Leadership Team to help redefine how we engage with each other, create paths to meaningful rewards and recognition, and to grow a full life-cycle experience from onboarding, ongoing engagement and development and long-term retention.

What you will do:
Internal Communications
- Evaluate, build and scale communication practices to inform “How We Work” at Cohere
- Lead communication strategy, planning, and execution for strategic HR initiatives. Scope of work typically includes developing positioning, messaging, tone, tactical plan, and related deliverables for distribution across relevant channels and forums.
- Seek out and use insights into manager and employee sentiments, perceptions, and behaviors to shape the overall experience, design and communications strategy.
- Own accountability for overall project management and on-time distribution of communication plans and deliverables.
- Connect on-going, regular communications with the employee experience and employee engagement to enhance employee understanding of Cohere’s employee value proposition including available resources, tools, learning and development opportunities, benefits, etc.
- Develop and manage trusted relationships with leaders and program owners in the People team and other functions that facilitate collaboration, insights, problem-solving, and feedback.
- Maintain a holistic perspective to link programs, activities, and communications across the People team in ways that support employee understanding and a cohesive employee experience and help shape the culture.
- Measure and report out on program performance; share insights, lessons, and best practices.
- Manage overall employee HR intranet approach, presentation and tone, advising content owners on effective communication techniques.
- Coordinate and MC all company meetings including collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop and collect content, deck presentation and meeting facilitation.
- Partner with leaders across the company to deliver a consistent tone and enthusiasm in our internal communications and company meetings.
- Facilitate creation of monthly employee newsletter including assisting with writing/reviewing submissions from the departments, working with stakeholders to collect content, keeping up with Slack announcements to pull relevant content in real-time.
- Maintain the People Team Calendar of events including drafting communications for company distribution for holidays, events and milestones.
- Keep pace with changing landscape and bring new ideas on how to engage and support the workforce through proactive communication practices.
HR & People Team Support
- Lead Rewards & Recognition Programs which include company-wide recognition in our Town Halls as well as ongoing recognition through our internal Shout Out and Kudos programs.
- Continually assess program metrics and impact and make recommendations to elevate or update offerings to best fit the organization.
- Directly manage and oversee the Boston Office Manager.
- Facilitate employee anniversary acknowledgement and swag orders.
- Partner with our Swag vendor to ensure we have appropriate stock levels, make recommendations for additions or changes and assist teams with orders for meetings/appreciation events/etc.
- Assist with ad hoc projects including but not limited to reporting, compliance, employee development and performance management
Your background & requirements:
- 5-8+ years of experience in employee communications, HR, learning and development or organizational development in a high growth organization
- At least one year directly leading or managing a small team
- Strong communication background including ability to ghost write, reflect tone, and facilitate large remote meetings
- Ability to work independently and with distributed team
- Ability to recommend process-oriented and/or operational solutions to improve communications and the employee experience
- Strong presentation skills
- Proficient with Google Suite; strength with Google slides
- Experience with HRIS and Cultureamp (preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels within the company
- Highly organized and motivated, ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic, fast paced environment

The salary range for this position is $125,000 to $145,000 annually; as part of a total benefits package which includes health insurance, 401k and bonus. In accordance with state applicable laws, Cohere is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Individual pay decisions are ultimately based on a number of factors, including but not limited to qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and internal alignment.
