What You Will Do

We are looking for a highly collaborative, results-oriented person to join the team as Manager, Category Management. Your primary responsibility will be to provide category management and insight support across the entire Chomps portfolio of products within assigned key accounts and sales channels. In this role, you will collaborate with sales, operations, and marketing teams to execute growth strategies across our customers aligned to category growth goals and total company objectives. You will be a game changer by aligning with sales and retailer partners to generate win-win opportunities between Chomps and assigned retail partners. The Category Manager is passionate about analytics and using insights to elevate customer partnerships. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop category expertise, identify, and articulate business insights and fact-based opportunities (storytelling) for assigned key accounts/channels by leveraging a variety of retailer, vendor, market/consumption, and shopper data sources (Numerator, retailer specific).
  • Your analytic insights, recommendations and solutions will build best-in-class capabilities and develop deep functional expertise to drive incremental growth
  • Utilize various information sources to address a variety of routine and ad-hoc analytical projects, including (but not limited to) regularly published retailer and/or category scorecards, performance reports/updates with assessment of brand, category, and competitive opportunities/issues.
  • Act as the front-line owner of data, responsible for organizing, scrubbing, analyzing, and finalizing large sets of raw data
  • Act as the expert in utilizing customer-specific shopper and data platforms to best leverage information to influence decision making, both internal and external
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams by providing analytics, reporting, and data-driven content addressing customer and category questions and opportunities.
  • Develop strong fact-based selling stories for innovation launches, close distribution gaps and expanding distribution to support company, consumer, and customer strategy
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to create category-focused analysis & compelling insights to drive Chomps strategic priorities
  • Provide competitive intelligence and analyses (total category, channel, customer level) to proactively protect or grow our business
  • Contribute to the measurement of test-and-learn initiatives and continuous improvement of shelving and merchandising recommendations
  • Create a competitive advantage with a data driven approach to in-store shelving, retail inventory and broker/third-party management.
  • Accepts responsibility for the organizational goals by taking ownership of new and different duties and identifying new opportunities within the Sales and Business Intelligence departments

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in category management, marketing and/or account management
  • Prior industry experience in food, CPG, and/or grocery/natural is preferred
  • Advanced user level in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI
  • Working knowledge of secondary and syndicated data sources (Nielsen, Spins, IRI, Numerator, 84.51, etc.), loyalty card and shopper panel metrics
  • Outstanding analytical skills with demonstrated success translating data into actionable insights and visual selling content
  • Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills
  • Ability to prioritize a high volume of requests and projects

Type: Full-Time, exempt

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $115,000 + 20% annual bonus

Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:

  • Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
  • Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
  • In addition to base salary, full-time team members receive medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K 6% match, and monthly reimbursements for wellness and home office.
