As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:
- Demonstrates ownership and responsibility of the Air Operations
- Manage the entire airfreight operations lifecycle, including import, export, and transit.
- Ensure compliance with air transportation regulations, customs requirements, and industry standards. Manage accurate documentation, including airway bills, customs declarations, and other necessary paperwork.
- Track and monitor Air Operations performance metrics, such as on-time delivery, transit time, and cargo damage. Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams (such as procurement, sales, and customer service) to align air operations with overall supply chain goals. Build relationships with external partners, including airlines, freight forwarders, and customs authorities.
- Respond to and manage any air freight-related disruptions or emergencies, such as flight cancellations, cargo damage, or regulatory issues. Implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions and maintain business continuity.
- Managing and leading the Air Operations team to ensure the smooth operation of Teleport throughout the entire network and responsible for Air Operations and CTOs' performance.
- Continuously assess air freight processes and identify opportunities for efficiency enhancements. Implement best practices, technology solutions, and automation to improve productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Having an in-depth understanding of air operations, including safety and regulations, to execute tasks effectively.
- Provide regular reports on operational performance, including key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery rates, cost savings, and incident resolutions.
- Manage compliance with international air transport and safety regulations, ensuring adherence to the standards set by regulatory bodies like IATA, FAA, and local authorities.
- This position may involve working during night hours, depending on needs.
- Roll up their sleeves as needed, and never delegate work that one would not be willing to do themselves
- Do what is needed to get things done, as they believe speed is more important than anything else to effect change
- Over communicate, particularly as they are all quite autonomous
