Job Summary

We are currently looking for a Business Application & Vessel IT Manager to join our team. The Manager, Business Application and Vessel IT has the responsibility to ensure that business applications and vessel IT process in Wilhelmsen Ship Management are properly aligned and supported by systems and tools to ensure an optimal and efficient operation.

Position: Business Application & Vessel IT Manager

Location: Menara 1 Sentral - Kuala Lumpur

Report to: Head of Business Application and Vessel IT

What You'll Responsible For:

• Responsible for IT process and tools development in close cooperation with application owners.

• Ensure WSM Business application always on good health and highly available to user both vessel and office.

• Ensure business application processes is followed. Overall responsible for the relationship with GBS IT, to communicate infrastructure needs and technology expectations

• Co-ordinate WSM application enhancements, updates and/or new application implementation and recommend priorities

• Guide and support application owners, application controllers and process owners to ensure optimization technology in all WSM business applications

• Own all IT upgrade and implementation projects for WSM business applications; hereunder performing risk analyses, testing, and ensuring testing & documentation

• Ensure Vessel software are in good working condition.

• Supervise and follow up of all IT related contracts and SLA's

• Secure communication between the business areas and IT suppliers to ensure optimal operation.

• Ensure alignment between business strategies / processes and IT capabilities onboard ships and within the business area.

• Advice management in strategic and tactical planning to ensure that WSM develops and obtains high quality IT solutions with the right business supporting qualities. 

• Ensure sufficient cost/benefit analyses are carried out as basis for decisions

• Supervision of IT-implementation processes to ensure business benefits and alignment with business development

• Establish support organization for all business applications and manage the application and vessel support teams  

 
What are the Accountabilities:
The position will be measured against:

• Feedback from WSM's Organization (Internal Customer Feedback)

• Achievement of Yearly Targets for BAVIT Function's AOP (Strategic Objectives)

• Achievement of annual targets for operational statistics 

• Achievement of Yearly Targets set during Employee Appraisal Process

• Service Level Agreement between WSM and third parties

• Liaison with vessel BAVIT team members with respect to their requests

 
What Experience and Skills Required:

• Bachelor or Master degree in technology or engineering.

• Demonstrated competency in project management

• Demonstrated competency in developing staff and leadership skills

• Experience in server, network and infrastructure, including Azure Cloud

• Good business and process understanding 

• Structured and solution oriented 

• Be able to work independently, be self-driven, and able to make quick decisions in a agile work environment 

 
Additional Preferences

• Maritime experience preferred 

• Experience working with vessel IT solutions
