Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Manager - Accounting to join our team in Davao City, Philippines. As a key member of our finance department, you will oversee accounting operations, ensure financial accuracy, and provide strategic insights to support business decision-making.
- Lead and manage the accounting team, providing guidance and mentorship to staff accountants
- Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial statements, reports, and forecasts
- Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and relevant financial regulations
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business objectives
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and implement recommended improvements
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reductions
- Oversee Accounts Payable and Travel & Expense functions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting or finance, with 2-3 years in a management role
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Peoplesoft, SAP) and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience managing teams
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- CPA certification preferred
- Experience with financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting
- Ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders
