Responsibilities

  • Monthly closing process: Manage and execute the monthly closing process, including AP, provisions and payroll. Consolidate financial analyses and record explanations for variances (previous months and quarters).
  • Supervise accounting operations: Oversee the department's accounting operations to ensure timely and accurate financial management. Draft and implement IFRS policies, while actively participating in the support and training of colleagues affected by this change.
  • Internal reporting: Lead the preparation and analysis of internal management reports. Prepares monthly consolidated financial results and is responsible for the completion of documents presented to senior management.
  • Financial analysis: Provide information and analysis to support decision-making and financial planning. Support the team in analyzing balance sheets and income statements on a monthly basis and at year-end closing. Assist and coordinate with the team in the preparation of annual documents for external audit.
  • Foreign subsidiaries: Supervise the accounting of foreign subsidiaries and coordinate with accounting analysts in the respective countries.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Work with FP&A and Revenue Management teams to perform and present financial analyses.
  • Review and approval: Review and approve journal entries and month-end worksheets for the department, including the Payables and Receivables team.
  • Staff supervision: Supervise and train accounting staff, delegate tasks and monitor performance.

Special Projects

  • Actively participate in the realization of various projects in the Finance department, including the implementation, validation and maintenance of financial reports required for the department's financial activities.
  • Participate in the transformation of the department

Qualifications

  • CPA designation and 7-10 years' experience. Experience in an accounting firm is an asset.
  • Knowledge of IFRS standards and their application.
  • Strong ability to communicate financial information to senior management
  • Ability to work in a lightly supervised environment
  • Good ability to communicate and demonstrate accounting issues while being able to propose and support conclusions
  • Strong work ethic, characterized by a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic, fast-paced environment;
  • Demonstrate leadership, flexibility and an analytical mind to manage multiple commitments and competing deadlines;
  • Excellent analytical and influencing skills
  • Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English);
  • Excellent command of the Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
