DREAM seeks a Major Gifts Coordinator to join its Advancement team. Reporting directly to the Managing Director of Advancement Strategy and Operations, the Major Gifts Coordinator will provide critical administrative and execution support to a growing fundraising operation. The Major Gifts Coordinator joins at an exciting moment for DREAM. The organization is embarking on an ambitious five-year strategic plan and has the vision, team, and fundraising potential necessary for sustainable, meaningful growth. Major Objectives
- Within the first 6 months, the Major Gifts Coordinator will:
- Establish an effective and efficient system to manage the Chief Advancement Officer’s external calendar and major gifts portfolio;
- Independently coordinate department meetings and cross-functional workstreams.
Responsibilities
- Administrative and Operational Support for the Chief Advancement Officer:
- Directly manage scheduling and travel arrangements;
- Prepare agendas, meeting briefings, and other materials for donor meetings;
- Coordinate donor visits, events and tours and collaborate across various internal teams to ensure successful and engaging visits for donors.
- Major Gifts / Fundraising Operations:
- Draft written donor communications for the CAO and executive office;
- Track donor outreach and activity for the CAO and co-CEOs’ portfolios;
- Support the fundraising leadership team in scheduling and organizing regular major donor portfolio reviews and maintaining of the major donor pipeline;
- Regularly update Salesforce with donor information for the major gifts portfolio; leverage reports and dashboards to manage up on outstanding action items;
- Support with the planning, organization, and execution of fundraising campaigns, donor events, and personalized recognition efforts such as Team Sponsorship, Year End Appeal and our cycle of major donor events (including cocktail parties, annual gala, and poker event) as well as customized and curated donor dinners;
- Conduct ad hoc research for prospects and existing donors.
- Team Operations & Team Culture Support:
- Manage scheduling, agendas, note-taking, and follow ups for regular Advancement department meetings;
- Plan culture-building and recognition activities for the Advancement team (i.e., coordinating celebrations for birthdays and anniversaries);
- Coordinate a centralized calendar for the Advancement team including the creation and maintenance of standard two-week look-aheads to ensure clarity across the team and alignment with other departments;
- Manage expense reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, required;
- 1+ years of experience in fundraising, advancement, or development, required (internships and college experience included);
- 1+ years of work experience in sales, non-profit, education, youth development, or fundraising, preferred;
- Impeccable attention to detail;
- Comfort with technology;
- Excellent organizational and problem solving-skills;
- Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills;
- Capacity to design and manage systems and calendars for a team;
- Motivated to flexibly and quickly learn and adapt;
- Team player;
- The ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of donors, board members, staff, students, and families;
- Interest in working in, and growing within, the world of nonprofit fundraising;
- A strong belief in the mission and values of DREAM, including the desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.
Working Expectations
- The Major Gifts Coordinator is part of the Advancement Team, which currently works 3 days in the office and up to 2 days remote, per week (subject to change).

Compensation
- DREAM offers a competitive salary commensurate with relevant experience with the potential for an annual performance-based increase. The incoming salary range for this position is $63,500 to $73,500 per year. New hires are typically brought into the organization at a salary closer to the start of the range depending on qualifications, internal equity, and the budgeted amount for the role. All staff are eligible for annual performance-based increases. Because we value staff tenure in each role, we do not currently cap salary ranges.
