Role: Major Account Manager Defense Industry
1. Technical Requirements:
- Education: Completed university degree or equivalent qualification. Experience in foundation and research environments is also relevant.
- Knowledge of Bundeswehr Structures: Deep understanding of organizational structures, decision-making processes, and procurement procedures within the Bundeswehr.
- Contractual and Legal Knowledge: Solid knowledge of national and international contracts, procurement law, and compliance regulations in a military context.
- IT Knowledge: Experience with relevant IT systems and software solutions used in the Bundeswehr environment.
- Interdisciplinary Skills: Ability to integrate knowledge from various disciplines (e.g., humanities, research) and apply it to the Bundeswehr environment.
2. Professional Experience:
- Project Experience: Proven professional experience in the defense industry.
- Customer Support: Proven success in managing large clients and/or complex projects.
- Network: Broad network within the Defense Industry and with relevant industry partners, foundations, and research institutions.
3. Personal Requirements:
- Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills in both German and English.
- Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation skills and the ability to create win-win situations.
- Resilience: High stress resistance and the ability to work in a dynamic and sometimes highly sensitive environment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Interdisciplinary Competencies: Ability to work interdisciplinary and effectively use knowledge from the foundation and research environment, with a willingness to continuously educate oneself.
- Leadership Qualities: Experience in leading project teams and the ability to act as an interface between various stakeholders.

4. Responsibilities:
- Customer Retention: Building and maintaining long-term relationships with the Defense industry, foundations, research institutions, and other relevant partners.
- Project Management: Leading and coordinating projects within the portfolio, ensuring timely and budget-compliant implementation.
- Strategy Development: Developing and implementing strategies for business development in the Bundeswehr environment as well as in foundation and research projects.
- Contract Management: Monitoring and managing contracts, ensuring compliance with contract terms, and identifying optimization potential.
- Reporting: Regular reporting on the status of projects, market trends, and business opportunities.
5. Additional Qualifications:
- Certifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP) and/or in IT security (e.g., CISSP) are advantageous.
