The Position

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer / Industrial Maintenance Technician to join our Operations team. This role is responsible for the troubleshooting, repair, replacement, and preventative maintenance of all equipment at AIRCO. Additionally, the role will manage spare parts inventories and preventive maintenance (PM) schedules to ensure the reliability and efficiency of production and lab operations.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical, pneumatic, controls, and electrical systems and the ability to work independently while coordinating with vendors and contractors.This is a full-time, in-person role based in Brooklyn, NY, with occasional travel to remote locations.

  • Plan, analyze, and execute maintenance tasks to support operational priorities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues.
  • Repair or replace equipment components as needed.
  • Identify and implement improvements to existing equipment and systems.
  • Ensure all safety systems and protocols are functioning properly.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using a maintenance tracking software platform.
  • Perform general facility maintenance, including painting, drywall patching, and minor electrical or plumbing repairs.
  • Coordinate with and assist external vendors and contractors as needed.
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance (PM) program for critical equipment.

What you bring to AIRCO

  • 5-10 years of hands-on maintenance experience with production equipment in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of safety systems and compliance standards for equipment and facilities.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in industrial maintenance.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office for documentation and reporting.
  • Interest in sustainability, technology, science, cultural progress, and startup environments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a bias for action in a fast-paced setting.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively, with strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

Bonus Points 

  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and automated systems, including troubleshooting and minor programming.

Salary Range: $37.40 - $40.75. Overtime eligible  

The approximate annual base compensation range and benefits listed above may vary based on the applicant's experience, skills, abilities, and relevant industry expertise.
