Job Summary:
The Logistics Specialist will participate in the preparation of shipments for products to international and domestic customers with accuracy and care. As well as prepare shipping documents for said shipments.
The ideal candidate has a proven record of success in hands-on shipping and receiving to meet the demands of a fast-paced environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a requirement to establish effective working relationships.
The successful candidate takes pride in their hands-on skills, sense of urgency, and attention to detail. Candidate must be able to perform a wide array of essential functions in the warehouse as needed. Excellent attendance is crucial for success
Responsibilities and Authorities:
The responsibility of this position is to receive products according to the process instructions, ensuring suppliers meet the requirements of the purchase order. This position is responsible for the shipment of goods in accordance with the instructions provided by the customer service team, in accordance with the requirements of the Sales Order. As well as preparing shipping documents and performing back up duties for the Shipping Coordinator. There are no direct reports for this position.
Duties

Prepares products for each shipment and checks and records all items loaded for shipment.

Prepare shipping documents both Internationally and Domestic per specific customer requirements.

Notifies supervisor or planning department when major discrepancies occur such as over-shipments or substitutions have been made.

Maintains other shipping records such as goods returned, returnable pallets, damage, etc.

On received goods, checks, and counts all items unloaded, trucks, or trailers. Checks suppliers’ counts and reports discrepancies to the purchasing team and quality.

Collects information for damage claims on in-transit damage.

May move materials on the shipping dock with hand truck and or Pallet Jack.

Occasionally ship hazardous shipments.

Provide backup for the Shipping Coordinator.

Respond to inquiries about inbound and outbound shipments promptly.
Required Skills and Experience:

Previous hands-on experience in shipping and receiving required.

Knowledge of International shipping requirements, Incoterms, HTS codes, and compliance laws is a plus but not required.

Experience with SAP is strongly preferred but not required.

High School Diploma or equivalent, or evidence of exceptional ability

Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal

Must be at least 18 years of age

All potential employees will be required to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Must have the ability to self-manage time, and follow instructions and safety requirements.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds consistently and up to 50 pounds occasionally throughout the day.

First Shift role 8:00 - 4:30
