Job Title: Logistics Specialist
Reports to: Assistant Manager, Logistics and Customer Partnerships
Location:  Westlake Village, CA

The Role

Support the transportation department, billing functions in daily reporting, invoicing, scheduling, tracking, and reporting. Maintain transport data. Provide consolidated data in the form of reports and metrics to internal and external customers. Monitor and analyze issues to enhance visibility. Communicate daily/weekly status on Transportation reports to supervisor/manager. Enhance the reporting administrative function by providing a strong, well-rounded administrative skill set and work ethic. Occasional overtime may be required. Manages a high volume of work in a moderately pressured but friendly environment. Attention to detail and sense of urgency is critical. Must manage conflicting priorities of

  • Track, schedule, and report status of import containers
  • Work with 3rd party vendor to audit and process invoices
  • Import document processing
  • Prepare and create export documents
  • Work with 3rd party vendor to track and report status/changes of orders
  • 3rd party vendor reviews and audits invoices for payment processing
  • Work with internal groups to research freight charges
  • Provide the necessary freight documentation or data to support systems for other functional areas
  • Maintain accurate use of freight payment rules to ensure payments are applied to the correct G/L account
  • Assist in the creation and publication of transportation financials
  • Contribute to development of monthly Key Performance Indicators related to freight and freight related services and measures
  • Work with customer service, purchasing, warehousing operations, manufacturing, vendors, and carriers to resolve issues and solve problems regarding transportation
  • Contribute to maintenance of daily/monthly reporting
  • Assist Audit providers with audit of carrier invoices for accuracy and contract compliance
  • Contribute insights to support key operational metrics on a daily/weekly basis
  • Identify areas of opportunity and innovation to reduce costs without jeopardizing service
  • Act as a liaison between Merchants, Customer Service, Warehouses, Vendors and Carriers
  • Compile historical shipping information to support trend monitoring
  • Resolve service failures and help implement process for continual improvement

Your Impact
The primary functions of this role, include but are not limited to:

1. Logistics Management – Manage the status of shipments, identify issues and monitor ETAs with Multiple Vendors. Maintain forecast reports for multiple modes of transport. Support Import Programs such as Direct Ship.

2. Administration - Processing, recording, and validating transportation invoices and documents, work with internal groups and external vendors to deliver critical payment information, track and report status of open statements and payments

3. Reporting - Maintain costing reports on freight, develop and maintain Yard Schedules for all DCs

4. Support - Provides administrative support for other department managers as necessary.  Assists in other clerical, administrative and special projects when necessary.

Who You Are

Knowledge of supply chain logistics/distribution concepts and practices; preferably in US Retail to include footwear retailers

Experience working effectively in complex organizations, satisfying the needs of cross functional teams, and often working under the pressure of competing priorities

We’d love to hear from people with

· Bachelor’s Degree is preferred or equivalent in education and experience.

· Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

· Ability to write/create reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

· Demonstrated ability with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Intermediate Excel skills preferred.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and vendors.

· Ability to communicate effectively and professionally verbally and in writing, with exceptional attention to detail.

· Fluent in English

· Experience working effectively in complex global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities

· Highly motivated, a team player and motivated self-starter

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

· Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

· Ability to understand the priorities of numerous individuals in the context of the overall team and to prioritize own work accordingly, while maintaining excellent communications with respect to timelines for completing assignments.

$28-$30/hour

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Westlake Village, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
