ABOUT THE ROLE
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for overseeing and managing the entire logistics process, including the transportation, customs clearance, warehousing, and distribution of goods. The role involves coordinating with HQ CS, planning team, HQ logistics, Customs clearing agents and distributor to ensure timely delivery of products and to optimize the supply chain.
Job Description
1. Logistics Coordination & Management
- Manage the ACID creation process on all shipping docs with HQ CS and issue ACID locally in coordination with the Customs broker.
- Update ACID date on shared folder with the freight forwarder.
- Ensure that all relevant import documents are in line with the requirements of Egypt guidelines and that the needed documentation for customs clearance is provided on time to ensure a smooth clearance process avoiding any extra charges.
- Track and follow up the full lifecycle for the shipments (FG and POSM) starting from containers pick up and arrival on time to port of origin with CS and 3pl, while ensuring the ETS is on time and act proactively.
- Manage the Full Import Process from vessel arrival, customs clearance, stocks at port, storage and demurrage factor up to delivery of container to Distributor or 3PL warehouse based on the stock level and budget management of COGS and PDC in coordination with the planning team.
- Manage clearing agents volume allocation.
- Collaborate with relevant clearing agents and customs authorities to ensure smooth importation of all products.
- Verify all service providers invoices and manage the required payments to all authorities and partners on time, to avoid any delay with importations.
- Update the live shipments tracker on a daily basis.
2. Budget and Efficiency Management
- Upload all payment requests on HSBC net (Customs duties and Form4 payments).
- Own and manage the Local COGS budget and drive further initiatives for efficiency by capitalizing on the whitelist and AEO.
- Manage the Local PDC budget drive further initiatives for efficiency while working on sustainability projects.
- Monitor the direct shipments from port and track contribution per region for better visibility.
- Manage in coordination with the planning team the order placement and allocation per gateway to ensure local network optimization.
- Support logistics manager on visualization and end to end optimization.
- Act as first point of contact towards the customers and public authorities for all issues related to the order to deliver.
- Weekly reconciliation of Stock and In-transit inventories.
- Manage all claims related to shipping lines issues and handle the reimbursement with HQ logistics and shipping line local office.
3. Reporting and Analysis
- Reporting all KPIs as per the SLA for all performance measures across all service providers.
- Prepare Weekly and monthly HQ reports and scorecard relevant to logistics.
- COGS Budget performance report on a weekly basis.
- PDC Budget performance report on a weekly basis.
- Accruals reporting monthly and YE with latest estimates on a monthly basis.
- Logistics dashboard.
Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years of experience in logistics in a relevant industry in FMCGs
- Bachelor's degree in logistics or engineering.
- Experience in E2E supply chain/logistics execution.
- Solid experience in managing various stakeholders including HQ and regional stakeholders, importation/Clearance, 3PL management and transportation.
- Proven track of records in driving efficiency within logistics areas.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and agile enough to overcome daily challenges.
- Process oriented with a holistic view of processes and experience in change management projects.
- Relationship builder with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Solution, quality and service oriented.
- Proven ability to run analysis from multiple sources, providing reliable and valuable outputs.
- Familiar with SAP / Excel and manage to adapt being fast learner to Bi report and Red Bull tools.
