The Logistics Co-Ordinator will manage day-to-day operations and act as the primary point of contact for 3PL warehouse and logistics providers across the UK and Europe. In this role, you will oversee the smooth execution of logistics processes, ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods while maintaining strong relationships with external partners.
Main Duties & Responsibilites:
- Act as the primary liaison for third-party logistics (3PL) providers, overseeing daily communication, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring seamless operations.
- Coordinate and arrange urgent transport solutions, responding swiftly to last-minute shipping requirements and logistical challenges.
- Manage key administrative functions, including shipment tracking, documentation processing, invoicing, and generating performance reports.
- Analyse logistics performance metrics, identifying trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Ensure full compliance with UK and European transport regulations as well as company policies and standards.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Commercial, Service & Delivery, Planning, and Finance to streamline logistics operations and enhance efficiency.
- Obtain competitive transport quotes and action expedited shipments, maintaining detailed logs for record-keeping and performance tracking.
- Develop, compile, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Logistics and Distribution to ensure consistency and best practices.
- Perform data entry, reporting, and in-depth analysis to support strategic decision-making and process optimization.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication skills, engaging regularly with customers to provide updates, resolve inquiries, and ensure a high standard of service.

Requirements:
- Education to degree level is preferred, ideally in a relevant field
- Minimum of 5 years of Logistics, Supply Chain, Operational experience, ideally in a medium to large organization
- Knowledge of the food logistics market. (Multi temp and/or warehouse an advantage)
- Experience with Customs Processes (UK related an advantage)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Languages: English (essential); German (highly desirable and advantageous).
- Experience working with ERP and/or WMS systems.
- Experience or knowledge of Microsoft D365 is desirable and will be an advantage.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel especially.
- Self-starter, proactive and accountable approach to work.
