Job Description
This position is responsible for field sales of Cognex Logistics Solutions within a defined territory and/or set of logistics end users, integrators, and OEMs. The primary focus is on ID opportunities, with additional prospecting for vision opportunities. The role involves developing account strategies and tactics in collaboration with the Logistics Sales Manager, exceeding sales quotas, and expanding the business at assigned or newly identified accounts. The position also includes participation in major ID and vision initiatives, coordinating with sales, product marketing, development, and marketing communications teams. Essential Functions:
- Properly forecast and close logistics opportunities with OEMs and end users.
- Follow up on sales leads and schedule customer visits.
- Prospect for new OEMs and end users not currently using Cognex’s logistics products.
- Build long-term relationships with OEMs and end users to enable year-over-year growth.
- Utilize the Cognex sales strategy for winning at logistics accounts.
- Conduct product and solution demonstrations at customer sites.
- Collaborate with counterparts from other territories on integrated opportunities or where decision-makers reside outside the LSE’s territory.
- Follow up on customer inquiries, understand system requirements, and differentiate the Cognex solution.
- Generate proposals individually or in collaboration with the Logistics Services team.
- Assist at trade shows and other marketing events.
- Coordinate trials and proof of concepts utilizing the Applications Engineering team.
- Maintain and continuously update project information in sales Book.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proven track record of sales performance in the material handling and intralogistics industry.
- Experience operating in a solutions sales environment.
- Industry knowledge in the logistics ID space.
- Proficiency in using defined sales processes to achieve consistent results.
- PC literate with a working knowledge of MS Windows applications.
- Ability to work independently.
Minimum Education and Work Experience Required:
- Technical degree or equivalent work experience.
- Proven sales experience with a strong track record of exceeding sales targets.
- Experience selling technical products to production managers and engineers.
- Native proficiency in Swedish or Danish; additional Scandinavian languages are beneficial.
- Fluent in English.
