RubyLaw(part of Banyan Software Inc.) is a Content Lifecycle Management (CLM) platform company providing legal marketers and business developers with tools to collaborate, manage, distribute, and share business content.
As a Lead DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, designing, integrating, and developing complex systems to ensure a smooth workflow across their entire lifecycle. You will work closely with DevOps engineers, systems administrators, developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to understand lifecycle requirements and deliver/maintain high-quality systems.
Key ResponsibilitiesSystem Administration
- Manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux / CentOS / Rocky Linux server-based infrastructure, focusing on configuration, performance, and security in a virtualized environment.
- Configure, deploy, and manage containers in a Kubernetes (K8s) cluster environment.
- Utilize tools such as Kibana, Prometheus, and Grafana for performance management, log analysis, and troubleshooting.
DevOps & Deployment Management
- Maintain uptime for a 24/7 website and web application hosting environment.
- Automate and enhance processes using Ansible for system configuration and ongoing maintenance.
- Configure and manage CI/CD deployments using GitLab CI/CD, Ansible, and Rundeck.
Strategic Project Implementation
- Assist the CTO in implementing long-term strategic projects, ensuring they stay on schedule and align with company goals.
Required Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills – Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- Attention to Detail – Ensuring accuracy in task tracking and reporting.
- Effective Communication – Strong verbal and written skills for clear updates and facilitating meetings.
- Adaptability – Willingness to learn new tools and adapt to evolving processes.
- Team Collaboration – Strong ability to work cross-functionally with different teams.
- Stakeholder Management – Experience handling multiple senior-level stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 10-12 years of experience as a Linux Systems Administrator.
- 3-5 years working with Ansible for systems automation.
- 2-3 years experience managing a Kubernetes (K8s) cluster.
- Proficiency in version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab).
- Experience with website and web application hosting environments, including Content Delivery Networks (CDN) and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Nice to have
- Experience with Node.js application development and JavaScript environments.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
- Experience working with server virtualization platforms (e.g., Ganeti, KVM, Proxmox, etc.).
- Knowledge of co-located server hardware and networking equipment.
- Strong remote network and server troubleshooting skills.
Working Hours & Location
- Working Hours: 2 PM to 11 PM IST to ensure coverage with North American teams.
- Location: Chennai office (Guindy) in a hybrid model.
- On-Call Responsibilities:
- Employees alternate weeks of on-call duties and provide coverage for teammates during PTO.
- While on-call, employees are responsible for responding to high-priority monitoring alerts 24/7.
