Department OverviewMotorola Solutions connects people through technology. The department delivers a server platform solution for the ASTRO 25, the most widely used P25 mission-critical voice and data communication network in the world.
Job Description

The incumbent will be responsible for developing and maintaining Linux platform solutions that are a foundation of MSI’s Astro technology products. The responsibilities include design and implementation, contributing to user manuals creation, functional testing (manual and automated), participation in system integration tests, building, testing, and releasing monthly patches to RedHat Enterprise Linux, and developing DevOps tools. The project uses Agile methodologies.

Basic Requirements

• Knowledge of Linux systems administration (preferably RedHat Enterprise Linux)

• Knowledge of Bash or Python

• Basic knowledge of test methodologies and frameworks

• Basic knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices

• Attention to detail

• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills

• English language skills at a level allowing efficient communication

Any of the following is an advantage:

• Knowledge of TCP/IP, network protocols, and services

• Familiar with Virtualization, such as KVM, is a plus

• Understanding of system security aspects

• familiar with GIT and JIRA
