The position

The success of the DetACT department is largely determined by the availability of the service, in addition to a beautiful (self-developed) product, highly experienced colleagues and thorough service. As a Linux specialist, you ensure the interests of both Fox and the customer. In this way, you and your colleagues are responsible for ensuring that the service is available 24/7. In addition, you spend time improving processes, monitoring, configuration management and automating recurring tasks. You do this together with colleagues from different disciplines. You speak with experts from Fox and provide a clear story and direction for the future of the Linux environments.

DetACT

The DetACT department consists of about 40 (technical) professionals with a passion for technology and cyber security. Our services include fraud investigation and 24/7 cyber threat detection. We detect real-time threats and escalate where necessary to the customer, so that they are immediately aware of imminent danger and have access to the necessary data to take action. With a team of 5 specialists, you are part of the System Operations team together with the professionals, making it easy to coordinate with each other. Together with them, you ensure that the daily operation remains available for all our customers.

Your profile

You are a Linux specialist and you propagate a vision, you keep an overview of the technical performance of the application and its operational functioning. You have good communication skills and like to share with others. You involve internal and sometimes external stakeholders at the right levels and at the right time. You are flexible, solution-oriented and you set the right priorities.

The ideal candidate:

  • Experienced with Ansible and setting up a Debian based OS by developing Ansible roles and playbooks.

  • Driven and can keep an overview of the work to be performed.

  • At least 1 year of experience with Bourne Again Shell or Bourne Shell and familiar with 'sed', 'awk', 'vim', 'git'.

  • Can and has handled repetitive tasks with self-developed scripts in the past.

  • Can communicate well in English with the customer, both in writing and during a call (teams, by phone).

  • At least 1 year of experience with technical application management of an application hosted on Linux (preferably Debian) (whether or not PI).

  • Can or wants to learn to manage and further develop a complex AWS environment.

  • At least 2 years of experience in managing Linux servers: Debian or RedHat based.

  • Can work independently and actively searches for 'the missing link' in order to complete the assignment or answer the problem.

  • Knowledge and experience in managing and installing physical servers.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in building enterprise networks, preferably in possession of CCNA or comparable certificate or demonstrable experience.

  • Experience in designing new functionality for a PI software product and/or the underlying infrastructure.

  • Experience designing monitoring for PI software and/or the underlying infrastructure.

  • 1 year+ experience in the Site Reliability Engineer role.

  • Experience with installing physical servers using PXEBoot.

  • Experience in managing and extending python scripts developed for management of PI software products and Linux Debian systems.
